IIT Kanpur Wraps Up ACCS-X: Insights into Cognitive Science

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has successfully concluded the The 10th Annual Conference of Cognitive Science (ACCS-X) was completed at the , an important event in India's cognitive science landscape. The conference, conducted at the Department of Cognitive Science under the guidance of the Association for Cognitive Science (ACS), offered interesting conversations and speeches addressing the complexities of the human mind and brain, according to IIT Kanpur.

ACCS-X, described as a premier yearly conference, emphasized different cognitive science research supported by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology. It gathered a vibrant community of scholars, including students and teachers from Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, and Linguistics. The event attracted distinguished teachers from diverse institutions across India, creating an engaging venue for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The 10th edition of ACCS-X, hosted by IIT Kanpur, featured several informative presentations. The conference began with an informative presentation by event sponsors Sanki - Tobii, who unveiled their groundbreaking portable eye-tracking technology. This gadget enables researchers to conduct real-world eye-tracking tests, which differ from standard lab setups and broaden the area of cognitive study.

Throughout the second day of ACCS-X, student presentations explored the complex interplay between emotions and cognition. Sessions on cognitive disorders and therapeutic strategies presented extensive evaluations and discussed viable therapies, offering hope and direction to those affected by such diseases.

On the third day, ACCS-X proceeded with talks on cognitive control, with presentations from experts from throughout the country that sparked lively debates. Prof. Anindita Bhadra of IISER Kolkata, in particular, provided fascinating insights from her Dog Lab, providing new perspectives on human-canine relationships and their cognitive foundations. A student-led session on social cognition was also featured during the conference, demonstrating several approaches used to untangle the complexity of this interesting topic.

The final talk session of ACCS-X focused on creativity and aesthetics, offering in-depth insights into these fields. Researchers from many institutes presented their work, enthralling the audience with incisive discoveries and lively conversations. In honor of the late Professor V S Chandrashekhar Pammi, the Valedictory Session recognized the Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster Presentation. Professor Surampadi Bapi Raju of IIIT-Hyderabad delivered the honors, honoring Prof. Pammi's legacy and contributions to cognitive science.
