New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has successfully concluded the first phase of its placement drive, securing approximately 1,050 job offers including pre-placement offers (PPOs). The IIT Delhi Placement 2024 Phase 2 is scheduled for mid-January 2024.
This year, around 20 international organisations have extended over 50 international offers during IIT Delhi Placement 2024, with recruiters representing countries such as Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States.
IIT Delhi students have mostly secured placements in the core technical sector such as IT and management sectors. The latest reports revealed that IIT Delhi has chosen not to disclose high-value packages.
Leading recruiters in the first phase, based on the number of students receiving job offers, comprise Air India, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Auto, and Ola Electric.
The Office of Career Services at IIT Delhi expressed its goal of attracting additional companies and diverse profiles in the upcoming phase 2 drive. The placement session at IIT Delhi is scheduled to run from December 2023 to May 2024, covering both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.
IIT Delhi Placement 2023-24 Season Begins with 480 Job Offers on Day 1
Anishya O Madan, the Industrial Liaison Officer at Office of Career Services, IIT Delhi mentioned that the core sector had recruited more students than in previous years.
She expressed gratitude to all participating recruiting organisations for placing their trust in the students and welcomed recruiters across various domains. She also anticipated that this positive hiring trend would continue throughout the rest of the season.
Madan further stated that more than 370 organisations from various sectors, offering 700-plus job profiles, had registered to hire IIT Delhi students. She concluded by saying that placement processes had been completed for over 450 job profiles in this phase, with others scheduled for the next phase.
