MHA: Guidelines To Reopen Schools And Colleges To Be Extended Until November 30

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) released guidelines stating that reopening schools and colleges will be extended till November end.

The school reopening guidelines for October was released on September 30, 2020. The guidelines for November were released on October 27, 2020.

The latest update stated that the previous guidelines will be followed till November 30, 2020, and there is no fresh change to the last guidelines.

All the major activities will be allowed to follow in containment free zones and the strict lockdown should be followed in the containment zone.

The unlock 5 guidelines issues in September stated that states and union territories were allowed to take a decision on reopening their schools and other educational institutions in a graded manner.

Some states followed that and opened their schools after a gap of six months and some states have not opened the schools yet.

The schools and other educational institutions were permitted to reopen by the state government and administration of UT based on the analysis of the situation following the SOP.

The SOP allowed that gathering of more than 100 people in schools and coaching institutes and state and private universities for research scholars.

The previous MHA guidelines encouraged distance learning and online learning. It also stated that it will be the preferred mode of teaching.

To fight the COVID 19 pandemic, the Unlock 5 guideline requested people to practice extreme caution and follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jan Aandolan.

The revised MHA guidelines stated that a maximum of 50 percent of the hall capacity and subject to a ceiling of 200 persons will be allowed for academic and other similar congregations in closed spaces.
