MHT CET 2027 First Attempt Likely from December 15; Check Expected Schedule

Maharashtra's State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has revised the schedule. The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2027 will now run in two phases. CET Cell Commissioner Dileep Sardesai confirmed the new format.

The first attempt is likely in December 2026, while the second attempt is proposed for April 2027. The revised timeline is available at cetcell.mahacet.org.

MHT CET is a state-level entrance test for professional courses. It covers BTech, BPharm, and allied programmes across Maharashtra. Candidates can now appear in either or both attempts. The higher score will count during the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

MHT CET 2027 Expected Schedule

Students should treat these dates as tentative for now. The CET Cell will confirm the final dates through its official notification.

Why Is MHT CET Moving to a Two-Attempt Format?

The CET Cell has proposed two attempts to reduce candidate stress. A student who underperforms in Phase 1 will get a second chance. Only the higher score will be used for admission.

The change also aligns MHT CET with major national exams. JEE Main is held in two sessions each year, while CUET UG follows a similar multi-session model.

This gives Class 12 students more time around board exams. It also allows candidates to improve their scores if they miss their target in Phase 1.

MHT CET 2027 Paper Groups and Pattern

MHT CET has two separate paper groups. Candidates must choose the group linked to their target course.

• PCM group: For BTech and BE admissions. It covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• PCB group: For BPharm and allied courses. It covers Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

The exam will be conducted as a computer-based test at centres across Maharashtra. Paper 1 carries 100 marks in Mathematics or Biology.

Paper 2 covers Physics and Chemistry for 100 marks. Each paper lasts 90 minutes. There is no negative marking in MHT CET.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry. Mathematics is compulsory for the PCM group.

Biology is required for the PCB group. Candidates appearing for their Class 12 examinations in 2027 can also apply.

There is no upper age limit for MHT CET 2027. Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Maharashtra domicile is required for state quota seats. Candidates from outside Maharashtra can apply under the All India quota.

Which Courses Accept MHT CET Scores?

MHT CET scores are used for admission to several professional programmes, including:

The CET Cell has not yet released the MHT CET 2027 application fee. Fee details will be published with the official notification.

How to Register for MHT CET 2027?

The registration window is expected to open in September or October 2026. Candidates should keep the following documents ready in scanned form:
