IIT JAM 2027 Registration Begins at jam.iitkgp.ac.in; Check Last Date to Apply

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has opened the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 registration on the official portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in. Candidates can submit applications through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) at joaps.iitkgp.ac.in.

The last date to complete the online application is October 12, 2026. IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted on February 14, 2027, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The score is used for admission to MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and other postgraduate science programmes at IITs and IISc.

The examination will be held across seven test papers in two sessions on the same day. Around 3,000 seats are offered across participating IITs. The examination will be conducted only at domestic centres, with no international test cities this cycle.

IIT JAM 2027 Test Papers and Session Timings

IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted across seven test papers. Candidates may select one or two papers, provided that the two selected papers are scheduled in different sessions.

Each paper will have a duration of three hours. The question paper will contain objective-type questions in three formats: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

The application fee depends on the candidate category and the number of test papers selected. Payment must be completed through the JOAPS portal using online payment modes.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027?

Candidates must complete the application process through the JOAPS portal by following these steps:

1. Visit joaps.iitkgp.ac.in and register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
2. Log in using the generated JOAPS enrolment ID and enter the required personal, academic, and category details.
3. Select the test paper(s) and preferred examination cities in order of priority.
4. Upload the scanned photograph, signature, category certificate, and PwD certificate, wherever applicable.
5. Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI, and submit the application form.
