MHT CET CAP 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Out; Check Last Date to Accept Seat

The State Common Entrance Test Cell (State CET Cell), Maharashtra has released the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2026 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) Round 1 provisional seat allotment result. Candidates can check the allotted institute and branch on the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org using their Application ID and password.

Selected candidates must accept the allotted seat and pay a non-refundable online fee of Rs 1,000. The seat acceptance window opened on August 3, 2026 and closes on August 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Reporting to the allotted institute with documents remains open until 5:00 PM on August 5, 2026.

MHT CET counselling covers admissions to first-year engineering and technology courses across colleges in Maharashtra. The State CET Cell conducts the entrance test every year for undergraduate technical admissions.

Candidates can follow the steps below to view their Round 1 status.

• Visit the official portal at fe2026.mahacet.org.
• Click on the CAP Round 1 provisional allotment result link.
• Enter your Application ID and password on the login page.
• Submit the details to view the allotted institute and branch.
• Download the provisional allotment letter for future reference.
• Also check the institute-wise allotment list for cutoff clarity.

How to Accept the Seat and Pay the Acceptance Fee?

Candidates who receive an allotment must complete online acceptance through their login.

• Log in to fe2026.mahacet.org using your credentials.
• Verify the allotted seat, category, gender, and reservation claims.
• Self-declare the accuracy of details as required by the portal.
• Select the appropriate seat status option before payment.
• Pay the Rs 1,000 fee through net banking, card, or UPI.
• Download the payment receipt and seat acceptance confirmation slip.
• Report to the allotted institute with original documents for verification.

What Are the Seat Status Options in CAP Round 1?

The State CET Cell offers three status options after Round 1 allotment.

• Auto-Freeze: Candidates allotted their first-preference seat are automatically frozen. They cannot appear in later CAP rounds.
• Self-Freeze: Candidates with non-first-preference allotments may lock the current seat. This blocks participation in subsequent CAP rounds.
• Not Freeze (Betterment): Candidates accept the current seat but remain eligible for improved allotment in later rounds.

• Verify the allotted institute, branch, category, and personal details on record.
• Choose your seat status from Auto-Freeze, Self-Freeze, or Not Freeze (Betterment).
• Pay the Rs 1,000 acceptance fee online before August 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
• Keep originals of mark sheets, ID proof, category and domicile certificates ready.
• Report to the allotted institute before 5:00 PM on August 5, 2026.
