Mumbai University: MU IDOL Conducts Exam with One-Hour Time Slots Successfully
The University of Mumbai, Institute of Distance & Open Learning - [IDOL], Mumbai successfully conducted the Final examination via online on October 26, 2020, for arts and commerce courses. Around 4,202 candidates appeared for the online exam.
Mumbai University took the initiative to conduct the online examination in light of the ongoing pandemic situation. Students can appear for the exam through smartphone, laptop or desktop at home with a camera on them.
The candidates were divided into small groups. Four-hour slots were given to students to choose to avoid internet traffic. Students were also given a choice to opt for one-hour time slots.
For BA exams nearly 3.049 students appeared for the exam in the morning session and for BCOM exams 1,153 students showed up in the afternoon session. The officials remarked that the exam went smoothly and without any disturbance.
The university conducted the final examination again for the BCOM courses on October 9, 2020. Students and the staff faced some technical errors during the exam for which the exam committee re-scheduled the examination.
The authorities made sure that this time no glitches were to exist during the online examination.
Results for the same are to be announced by the university.
Mumbai University has expanded its campus to different locations in Mumbai i.e. Suburban Mumbai and Kalina.
Mumbai University offers both regular and distance education to its students in all streams. It has been accredited with NAAC and approved by UGC. The state university is affiliated with 781 colleges in Mumbai.
The university also conducts entrance tests for management programs every year. The test is used to offer admission by the affiliated colleges to Mumbai University.
