The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has released the NMAT by GMAC (NMAT) 2026 official notification on the official website at mba.com/exams/nmat. Registration for the computer adaptive management entrance test will open on August 20, 2026 and will close on October 10, 2026.

The exam window for NMAT 2026 will run from November 2, 2026 to December 20, 2026. Scheduling of individual test slots will remain open from August 20, 2026 to October 22, 2026. Candidates can appear for the test up to three times within the same testing year.

NMAT scores are accepted by more than 58 leading business schools in India, including NMIMS Mumbai, SPJIMR (PGMPW), VIT Vellore, ISB Certificate Programmes, XIM University and ICFAI Business School. The test is delivered at physical centres in over 70 Indian cities.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for NMAT 2026?

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline from a recognised university. The minimum aggregate score required in graduation is 50 percent. Final-year students awaiting their results are also permitted to register.

There is no upper age limit for appearing in NMAT 2026. Graduates from engineering, commerce, science, arts, law and other streams are all eligible. Category-based relaxations do not apply, as GMAC follows a uniform eligibility norm.

NMAT 2026 Exam Pattern

The NMAT 2026 test is a computer adaptive examination of 120 minutes. It contains 108 questions spread across three sections. Candidates are free to choose the order in which they attempt the sections at the test centre.

Each correct answer carries three marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. All three sections carry equal weightage in the overall scaled score.

NMAT 2026 Registration Fee

The NMAT 2026 registration fee is expected to be Rs 3,000 plus applicable taxes for a single attempt. Additional charges apply for retake attempts and for late registration after October 10. The fee is uniform across all categories and there is no waiver.

Payment can be made online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. Candidates can also opt for score reporting to selected NMAT accepting schools during the registration process.
