    NMAT 2020 Selection Process is decided by Graduate Management Aptitude Council which consist of two steps: appear for NMAT 2020 and secondly comprises of GD/PI/WAT rounds. Final admission letter is released based on performance in both the rounds.There is no common selection process followed by participating B-schools. NMAT Result 2020 is likely to be declared in the 3rd week of January 2021. Selection procedure will start soon after the results are declared.

    There are more than 35 Participating B-schools in NMAT  including NMIMS Mumbai, ICFAI Business School, VIT Vellore, and XIM Bhubaneswar (for selected MBA programmes).

    NMAT- 4 Step Selection Process

    The 4 step NMAT 2020 selection process will begin with candidates registering and appearing for the entrance exam.

    1. NMAT 2020 is scheduled from October 2020 to December 2020. (Candidates who wish to retake the exam may register before December 2020).
    1. NMAT 2020 result will be made public in the month of January. After this, all B-schools will release their respective NMAT 2020 cut offs. Candidates will have to clear the exam cut off in order to proceed with the selection process.
    1. In the third step, candidate will have to appear for further screening rounds organised by B-schools which includes Group Discussion, Written Ability Rounds, and Personal Interview.
    1. The final selection of the candidate depends upon the score achieved in the screening rounds. The weightage of each round in NMAT score will be decided by respective MBA college.

    Here are some of the tips to help candidates clear the GD, WAT and PI rounds.

    1. Group Discussion: A topic will be provided by the B-school on the spot for candidates to indulge in group discussion. The topic may be related to any field. So, applicants are advised to be familiar with current affairs related to social, political, and economic walks of life along with knowledge of their respective field.
    2. Written Ability Test: The WAT round is conducted to test candidates’ writing skills. Candidates are made to write an essay on a given topic. It is necessary to first understand the topic well, jot down the necessary points and plan out a structure before beginning with the essay.
    3. Personal Interview: This round involves candidates to appear for a face to face interview session with panelists. The panel may include members from B-school selection committee as well as independent experts. It is essential for candidates to be presentable and alert while making conscious answers.

    NMAT 2020 Group Discussion

    Group Discussion is a round common to many of the B-schools accepting NMAT score admission process. Candidates’ knowledge is tested around varied topics of political, social, economical, sports, arts, educational nature. 

    For group discussion, candidates will be divided into groups of 7 or 8 and will be judged on the following factors:

    NMAT WAT-PI Process

    NMAT 2020 Written Ability Test

    Written Ability Test or WAT is a new event in the NMAT selection process, expanding the entire procedure. This round is conducted by few B-schools only, and aims at testing students’ grammar skills along with the understanding of the topic. WAT round includes assessment of key skills like:

    • Language
    • Vocabulary
    • Writing ability
    • Expression
    • Clarity Of Thought

    NMAT 2020 Personal Interview

    PI round is the second most common round of the screening process of colleges accepting NMAT score. This round is usually conducted as a panel discussion with 3-4 panelists. The panelists include senior interviewers from B-schools and experts of various fields. During this session, the panelists try to assess the candidate on the basis of his/her interests, attitude, personality, and future aspirations. Academic and work profile of the applicant is also considered.
