Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Introduces AI Teaching Modules in Madrasas to Foster Technological Literacy; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Danish Azad Ansari, the Minister of State for Minority Welfare in Uttar Pradesh, has announced that the state government is launching a pilot project to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) teaching modules in Madrasas. The aim is to educate students about the latest technological advancements and integrate them with mainstream educational progress.

In a unique endeavor, the government is making efforts to introduce children in Madrasas to promising futuristic technologies, including artificial intelligence, Ansari said. 

Furthermore, Ansari highlighted the launch of a special campaign on October 4 as part of the pilot project. He stated that the government has established a website, www.teamupai.org, which provides information on artificial intelligence and ML, its potential impact on various aspects of human life in the future, and the employment opportunities associated with it.

Using this website, daily AI modules are being taught through expert connections, and the link is distributed to approximately 16,000 Madrasas across the state, the minister confirmed. These live classes are then broadcast to the schools through the provided link.

It's worth noting that Uttar Pradesh has a total of 16,513 recognized Madrasas, with 560 of them receiving government grants. When asked whether separate teachers will be hired to teach AI in these Madrasas, the minister clarified that a recent training program was conducted for Madrasa teachers.

These educators are being comprehensively educated about the various facets of AI. In the future, this program will be further extended to Madrasas with the assistance of the website and these trained teachers, as per Ansari's statement.

When asked if AI education is exclusively provided in recognized Madrasas within the state, Ansari clarified that it's an online platform accessible to any Madrasa. They can use this platform to offer AI training to their students. He pointed out that the BJP government in the state is earnestly striving to integrate the Muslim community into mainstream education.

The minister also highlighted that offering AI training to students in Madrasas is a significant step in this direction, considering that AI is a field that is set to create numerous employment opportunities in the years to come.

He added that providing Madrasa students with knowledge about this cutting-edge technology will open up substantial opportunities for better employment.

The Teachers' Association Madaris Arabiya Uttar Pradesh emphasized that for the state government's scheme to be effectively implemented, there must be improvements in the essential infrastructure within the Madrasas. 

Diwan Saheb Zaman Khan, the General Secretary of the organization, expressed that while it's commendable that the state government wishes to provide training in modern technology like AI, to advance this endeavor, it's crucial to make the necessary arrangements within Madrasas.

Furthermore, he recommended maintaining continuous communication with representatives of the Madrasas. Khan pointed out that there are many Madrasas in the state where the government has provided computers, but there's a shortage of operators to manage them, and experts will be needed to teach AI effectively.
