New Delhi:The agricultural supply chain startup company WayCool Foods announced on May 27, 2023 (Saturday), that it has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in this location to further extend its offerings and increase the revenue and profitability of farmers.

In accordance with this agreement, WayCool Foods will offer technical support for the Regenerative Agriculture Sustainable Architecture (RASA) tech stack's seeding and growth. Additionally, it would contribute its expertise in the design and architecture of the agri-stack as well as its domain knowledge of the agri-supply chain from the soil to the point of sale.

"Partnership with IIT Madras will support our ongoing efforts to encourage Indian farmers to adopt regenerative agriculture. Our fieldwork has shown that adopting regenerative agricultural practices can increase farmers' incomes commercially," WayCool Foods Managing Director Karthik Jayaraman said.

"We are optimistic that collaborations between WayCool Foods and IIT Madras will give farmers access to cutting-edge technology that will enable them to take preventative action to address climate change," he added.

The RASA Tech Stack, created by IIT-Madras in 2022, would help farmers track and optimize their crop production.

"Through this partnership, we seek to develop cutting-edge solutions that can address some of the major issues that the farming and agricultural sector is currently facing," IITM Pravartak CEO M J Shankar Raman said.

"We are confident that by utilising sensor technology and data science methodologies, we can raise crop output, decrease waste, and boost farmers' revenue. Additionally, it will generate fresh chances for development," Raman added.
