The pending papers for the West Bengal Higher Secondary examination 2020 have been cancelled by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). This was announced on 26 June by the State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee.
The tests for the remaining papers were to be held on 2, 6 and 8 July. The papers have been cancelled due to the rising number of coronavirus cases.
According to reports, the Minister implied that the WBCHSE is designing an evaluation policy based on an internal assessment which will be used for the cancelled papers.
Candidates who are not satisfied with the marks allotted to them on the basis of the internal assessment formula will have the option of taking the examination again on a later date.
The Council has set a deadline of 31 July by when it intends to finish the evaluation work and the internal assessment process. Following this, the board will be able to declare the HS results on or before 31 July.
