What Happens After Round 2 for Fresh Candidates?

The next stage of WBJEE 2026 counselling will open on July 24, 2026, for fresh registration and choice filling. Qualified candidates who did not register earlier can join this stage. Existing candidates who chose Accept and Upgrade will also be considered in the next round for a better allotment.

Vacant seats after Round 2 will be added to the seat matrix for the next round. Fresh registration will require a separate counselling fee payment on the portal. Candidates must lock their choices within the given window to be eligible for allotment.

Why This Matters

Round 2 is the last chance for many candidates to lock a preferred branch before mop-up. Choosing Accept and Upgrade keeps the current seat safe. It also allows a shot at a better college in the next round.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to wbjeeb.nic.in and check the Round 2 allotment status.
  2. Decide between Accept and Freeze, Accept and Upgrade, or Not Willing to Accept.
  3. Pay the Rs 5000 seat acceptance fee before July 23, 2026.
  4. Complete self reporting and download the reporting slip from the portal.
  5. Keep original documents and photocopies ready for institute level verification.
  6. Report to the allotted institute within the deadline to confirm admission.
