While CESC supplies Kolkata, Howrah and parts of the Hooghly district with electricity, WBSEDCL, formerly known as the West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB), supplies the rest of the state with power.
Though WBSEB was named by Chatterjee, he meant WBSEDCL.
