How is life of a CS student in NSIT and DTU as compared with life of a CS student in an IIT?

- Academic Workload: The first-year students in NSUT and DTU have a laid-back and relaxed experience with no academic pressure of completing assignments, preparing for internals, performing practicals, etc. Whereas IITians are busy with a hectic schedule and rigorous academics right from the first year. They have to be serious about their practicals, labs, and assignments.
- Attendance Policy: Although NSUT and DTU have a 75% attendance policy NSUT students don’t follow and the consequences aren’t very serious. IITs on the other hand are very serious about attendance policies. Students need to attend classes, tutorials, and labs each requiring 75% attendance.
- Curriculum: NSUT and DTU have a relatively lighter and easier curriculum than IITs which have a very rigorous and challenging course syllabus.
- Campus life: NSUT and DTU have relatively dull campus life than IITs. Students are not involved in organizing summits, seminars, presentations, events, etc. While in IITs the campus is buzzing with some or other activities every day.
- Hostel life: Unfortunately in India, the quality of hostel life depends on your gender. If you are a girl you will have a full life anywhere whereas if you are a boy you will get full freedom at either place.
- Placements: Placements won’t be an issue if you are a CSE graduate because both NSUT and IITs offer similar opportunities.

The Economics branch is slowly becoming one of the best branches of IIT Kharagpur. Integrated M.Sc. (5 years) in Economics opens with JEE rank 3615 and closes at 5439 as per JoSAA 2022. My sister is a recent pass-out of NIT Durgapur and misses it a lot. She misses everything about her college from the amazing hostel life to all the friends she made. She misses the memorable and enjoyable moments spent with seniors. with them. She wants to relive all the fun moments like late-night gossip and fun in the hostel and bunking classes with her friends.
She misses the struggle she went through to maintain her attendance and a good CGPA. Another amazing experience is when NIRVANA is held. A number of workshops are held by clubs to help students pursue their passions. She found happiness in gossiping and eating junk food in places of recreation inside the campus. She also misses visiting restaurants like Mainland China, Lemon Grass, City Residency, Layeks, Durgapur House, and many others. The competitions conducted by clubs and fests are also very engaging.
With so many memories and life lessons, she thanks NIT Durgapur for what it made her today.
DTU vs NSIT: Which one should I choose for mechanical engineering?
Both DTU and NSIT are great options for engineering aspirants with good ranks who are unable to make it into IITs. These 2 institutes are at the same level as top NITs, BITS, and IIT Guwahati. Comparing DTU and NSIT, the following points can be considered
- Branch: NSIT is slightly better than DTU in software branches like COE/IT and even ECE whereas DTU excels in core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil.
- Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, DU is the clear winner with its 160-acre beautifully designed campus and top-notch facilities. Although NSIT has TI labs for ECE students, the overall campus facilities speak in favor of DTU.
- College Life: Campus life is better at DTU because of the relaxation of rules and a laid-back environment. NSIT has strict rules and students have to worry about attendance.
- Mechanical Engineering: DTU Mechanical Engineering is an excellent choice because of its age-old legacy. The department excels in all aspects be it infrastructure, labs, faculty, facilities, reputation, and placements. The branch can be easily compared with the ME branches of IITs and BITS in terms of placements and education. A number of societies like ASME, and SAE will harness your passion for the branch.
DTU is an excellent choice if you are genuinely interested in Mechanical Engineering.
How difficult is it to graduate from Kurukshetra University?
My sister pursued a B.Ed from Kurukshetra University and the good news is that it's easy to graduate from there.
You must only be worried about the exams because Kurukshetra University sets difficult question papers. The evaluation of the answer sheet is done carelessly and if you are not satisfied, you can apply for revaluation.
In the third semester of my sister’s B.Ed, all the students failed in a particular subject. My sister got 33 and the passing marks were 40. But once revaluation was initiated, she got 40 and passed.

IMI Kolkata students are placed in reputable firms in Kolkata, where the placement rate is high.
