Is DTU good or bad?
Like any other thing, DTU has its own set of weaknesses and strengths. To name a few
Pros
- You become fully dependent on self-study and stay motivated on your own.
- It is located in the capital city of India and thus has a plethora of opportunities to offer.
- Some recruiters still consider it a part of DU and approach it because of its DCE brand.
- DTU still is the mother institution of IIT Delhi and thus has a great faculty pool and academic environment. We have well-qualified teachers and good exposure.
- The 150-acre campus is better maintained than the huge forest-like campus of NSIT.
- DTU is better than IITs in the sense that its brand name hasn't been diluted yet and it stands high amongst its rivals.
- The best part of DTU is the Engifest, a spectacular event with massive participation.
Cons
- DTU classroom sessions are very lacking so students don't get to experience good classroom learning.
- Although it is in Delhi, its location is Bawana
- DTU lacks the brand value and tag which is crucial for engineering students.
- The increasing batch size every year is another reason to worry about as it's affecting the cutoffs and placement opportunities directly.
Overall, DTU is a great choice if you are not after brand value and are ready to commit to hard work.
Is Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune, good or bad?
If we talk about Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering and if its branches of Delhi and Pune are comparable, then the placement scenario will not be a problem at all.
A lot of students do not face much trouble in getting placed. It does not matter which branch you belong to, most probably you will land in the IT sector as 90% of the jobs are from IT. Pune as well as Delhi, both are metro cities. Therefore, you will get to experience a good campus life in both.

- It provides facilities including labs, library, and Wi-Fi. They have well-equipped labs for instrumentation, chemical, computer/ IT, and electrical department.
- The faculty is really good as they try their best to impart the maximum amount of knowledge that they have about the subject. The teachers are greatly qualified. Students are made industry-ready with the relevant course curriculum.
- The hostel’s food and infrastructure facilities are also good. Indoor and outdoor spaces are also available and the cafeteria is decent.
- The student population is diverse. They are from all departments - engineering, medical, management, architect, etc.
- Every 6 months, students are allowed to arrange technical events, competitions, technical games and workshops, industrial visits, guest speakers, etc. The best part is the annual cultural fest. This cultural fest includes a fashion show, a dance competition, a talent show, celebrity appearance as a guest and much more.
Every year, the college alumni have a meet and greet seminar at a huge level which is the best thing as they get to cherish their memories.
How is the Bharti Vidyapith College of Engineering, Pune good?
It is quite a decent place. You can look at various parameters to help you decide. Here are a few points that will help you clarify your decision:
- Placements: As far as placements are concerned, for the year 2018-2019, about 60% of students were placed as per my knowledge. This number is increasing over the days and the average salary is INR 3 LPA. Some of the top recruiters at the college include JSW, Reliance, ONGC, etc.
- Infrastructure: The college has multiple labs, a library as well a Wi-Fi facility. The labs are also very well equipped at departments like IT, Instrumentation, Chemical, and Computer engineering. The technology is also updated as required. You will appreciate the library as well and have a big space for reading. The hostel is also quite good with meals provided thrice a day and a good quad lawn space.
- Faculty: The faculty is known to deliver what they know best about the subject. They are quite focused and experienced individuals. They also conduct quite a few fun activities to increase the bonding between students and faculty. You will also be industry-ready as far as the curriculum is concerned. You will enjoy your time here and it will definitely be worth your money.
- Miscellaneous: There are a number of technical events and cultural fests conducted throughout the year at the college. You will also see a mixed crowd of engineering, medical, management, and architecture students. There are also quite a few fashion shows, celebrity and guest appearances along sports competitions. The alumni meet is also looked forward to.

Is there an MBA at NSIT?
Yes, NSIT Delhi (now NSUT) started its MBA program in 2019 and its first batch graduated in 2021. This is good news for all the CAT aspirants.
NSUT is known for its Engineering courses. Though the MBA program is new, you will have access to endless resources. NSIT has a strong alumni network with majority of alumni working in top corporates around the world. Therefore, it will be worth spending two years at NSIT (NSUT). You will get a great learning environment and experienced faculty.
Thus, you can definitely consider NSUT Delhi for a decent MBA experience with the tag of a prestigious university.
How will you describe a day at IIEST Shibpur?
Days are not much different at IIEST Shibpur as compared to any other college. Nevertheless, there is a cycle of life at the college, i.e. eat, attend Classes, sleep, repeat. There are also extracurricular activities like sports, various clubs, quizzes, music, etc. You can take part in any of these activities.
The experience of college life will be different for the Day scholar and hostellers. For Days scholars, college starts with the classes, then a break time which they usually while away, then on a certain day, they have clubs after classes. You will certainly not be bored. If you are planning on attending IIEST Shibpur, join a few clubs.
How is life at IIEST shibpur?
I have few friends from IIEST Shibpur and I will try to give you a brief idea about the campus life based on what I heard from them.
Life is awesome at IIEST Shibpur. The campus is surrounded by greenery everywhere. The campus has lush green trees near the bank of the Hooghly river. The campus has two big grounds, one is named Oval and the other one is named Lords.
IIEST Shibpur campus gives priority to sports. Most of the students play cricket and football on campus. There are also facilities for table tennis, badminton, basketball.
There are a lot of clubs and societies on the campus, which you can join based on your own interest. I am mentioning a few club details here. Have a look.

Which college is better, SIBM Hyderabad or IBS Hyderabad?
Symbiosis has only good colleges in Pune. SIBM Hyderabad is merely an extension of the franchise, designed to attract students from all over India. If you are interested in attending a Symbiosis college, you should consider SIBM Pune, not SIBM Hyderabad. The same is true for IBS; IBS has many branches, such as IBS Pune and IBS Bangalore, but these are only extensions of the main campus, which is IBS Hyderabad.
It is recommended that you choose a main campus college, rather than an extension of a good college.
The final Verdict is that you should go for IBS Hyderabad. It is always recommended to do your own research and gather information from multiple sources before making a decision on your education. Additionally, factors such as personal preferences, career goals, and financial considerations should also be taken into account.
What is the difference between the preparation strategy for GATE and that of M Tech (CS) at ISI Kolkata?
I am not fully aware of IITs courses but could still try to give some insight of the same on whatever I got to know from the internet.
- The ISI M.Tech CS entrance exam includes an optional Objective Paper Mathematics and a Subjective Paper (you may choose CS).
- The majority of ISI's placements are in analytics firms so it would be advised to not choose ISI if you're looking for a core CS job.
- If you are interested in Algorithm Design, Machine Learning, and, most importantly, Cryptography, then ISI would be a good option.
- After completing your MTech CS at ISI, you will have several research opportunities in ISI and also abroad.
- ISI has excellent theoretical CS faculty (Mathematics, Statistics, Cryptography, Machine Learning, Data Science).
- So, if you're interested in learning more about these topics, you can come to ISI.
Please do not expect to find Developer, Coder, or Core CS work at ISI after completing your M.Tech. Students have a misconception about it and come here with high hopes which ultimately backfires.
Is it true that SJCE Mysore being converted to JSS science and technological university has degraded the value of the college since the degree is not under VTU?
SJCE conversion to JSS has not degraded the value of the course or the degree. These are said to be rumors spread by rival institutions. Let me share some of the facts which might clear your views regarding the institution.
- The placements are not affected as notable companies keep on visiting the campus. SJCE has maintained a good relationship with the companies
- The institute sets its own syllabus, which is industry-oriented unlike that of VTU which is not usually updated.
- SJCE is known for its brand, the name is not removed from the degrees and is often mentioned by recruiters in India and abroad.
- The degree programs are accredited by NBA and the degree awarded by the University is recognized by countries that have signed the Washington accord. So, while applying for PG in other countries, your degree has its value.
- It follows the OBE system and has 5 events per subject which are similar to the model followed by foreign universities, unlike VTU who still follows the age-old internals concept.
It is suggested that you do not go by rumors spread by rival institutions. You can definitely put your trust in SJCE, as it stands strong as one of the notable educational institutions in Karnataka.
I have Delhi quota and defence quota, what should be my AIR to get into DTU, NSIT , IIIT Delhi or NIT Delhi?
if you have both Delhi state quota AND defence quota, here's how it works at DTU/NSUT:
Delhi state quota: 85% of seats at DTU, NSUT, IIIT Delhi reserved for students who passed 12th from Delhi schools. significantly lowers the required rank.
Defence quota: separate 5% horizontal reservation for children/dependents of defence personnel (serving/retired/ex-servicemen) at these colleges. this is across all categories.
when you have both Delhi state + defence quota combined: your effective competition pool is very small — you're competing only against other Delhi-domicile defence quota candidates. the cutoff rank for this specific category is significantly lower than the regular Delhi quota.
realistic AIR for DTU via Delhi+Defence quota:
- DTU CSE: students with both quotas have gotten in with JEE Main ranks in the 5,000-15,000 range (vs. ~1,500-2,000 for general Delhi quota)
- DTU ECE/EE: even higher ranks possible, sometimes 20,000-40,000 range
