How is life at XIMB, Bhubaneswar?

CG
Chandni Ghose Posted On : April 22nd, 2021
M.B.A. Human Resource Management, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2018)

As far as the college campus is concerned, my friends have lived on the new campus so my response is based on their experience there. Firstly, it is quite far from the city. If you are used to things being very convenient, this could pose as a bit of an inconvenience in your early days of living here since there really aren’t that many places to hang out.

However, this can definitely be an advantage at the same time as you will get more time to bond with your seniors and batch mates. In my opinion, once you build some friendships, you probably will not have a problem about not being close to a city anymore.

There are also numerous committees you can be a part of. You will definitely get super busy trying to juggle your responsibilities as a volunteer in these committees, along with other commitments like your academics, case study competitions, group projects, and other things. There are also a few parties that take place so you will get your share of fun in that aspect as well.

Overall, you can expect to have a good college life at either of the campuses. Hope this helps.

DS
Darshan Sethi Posted On : October 5th, 2023
Lives in Delhi

One of my cousins is a student at MAMC Delhi and here are a few highlights of the institute based on the experience she shared.

  1. Education: MAMC Delhi has an excellent academic ambiance that can even motivate the least interested ones.
  2. Location: It’s in close proximity to CP so you can visit cafés during your lunch break, have a sub, and come back. You can jog to the India Gate every morning which is also very close to the campus. Daryaganj is another famous place due to its Sunday book market.
  3. Connectivity : MAMC Delhi has great connectivity to tourist places like Kasol, Mussoorie, etc
  4. Extracurriculars: The college has excellent sports facilities like cricket, basketball, badminton, gym, swimming pool, etc
  5. Library: This is the best part of the college. MAMC Library is uniquely designed and will motivate you to become a nerd and spend your afternoons here.
  6. Campus life: The campus is small but the overall ambiance is quite friendly and gives you the best memories of your life.
  7. Reputation: MAMC enjoys a very good reputation and its Delhi University Quota in PG is another major perk that places it above IMS BHU.

Hope this helps you!

What is the strategy to clear the DSSSB PRT exam?

SP
Sanya Pal Posted On : January 21st, 2021
Studied Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi (2019)

DSSSB PRT is a recruitment exam conducted for the post of Primary and Nursery Teachers. Some pointers for clearing the DSSSB PRT exam are:

  1. The most important step is to study the exam pattern. You should know the syllabus and exam pattern properly. It is as follows:
  • The paper consists of a total of 200 questions and each question is weighted one mark.
  • There is negative marking; for every wrong answer, 0.25 mark is deducted.
  • The questions come from subjects such as General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability, Arithmetic and Numerical Ability, Hindi Language and Comprehension, English Language and Comprehension, and Subject Concerned (questions related to the subject chosen and teaching methodology).
  1. Focus on sections which are your weak points to avoid silly mistakes. Make sure you know your strong sections to avoid wasting time on them. Try to cover and study all the basic concepts of every subject.
  2. Study all the basic concepts of every section with reference to teaching methodology. Also, try to solve quizzes every day to measure your progress.
  3. Make notes. It is the best way to prepare for objective exams and helps in the long run. It makes revision much easier, especially when you have all the information in one place/notebook. Try to make short notes while studying.
  4. Prepare a timetable and follow it. If you are irregular with your timetable then your preparation will likely suffer as well.
  5. Focus on youtube videos for the general awareness section. Youtube channels compile all the information regarding the subject.

Daily strategy for preparing:

Category

DSSSB PRT

General Awareness

1 hour

Reasoning Ability

1 hour

Numerical Ability

1 hour

Hindi and English Language

2 hours

Teaching Methodology

2 hours

Also, you can look up last year's papers and sample papers to prepare properly. Best of Luck.

How was your first day at Maharaja Surajmal Institute?

YT
Yashi Taneja Posted On : June 11th, 2021
BBA Management, Maharaja Surajmal Institute, New Delhi (2017),

Most of my friends have studied here at Maharaja Surajmal Institute and they were not very happy with the college. Following points are based on their experience:

  • The first day is usually very average and you might face difficulty in getting to the classrooms.
  • There will be an introduction session and usually most of the students are not very happy to get admission in that college.
  • A documentation process will also take place regarding the submission of fees which will take around 2-3 hours.
  • The crowd at the college is not good and you will find most of them involved in bad habits.
  • The faculties of this college are well experienced and qualified. They will help you in getting a lot of knowledge.
  • There is a compulsory rule of having 75% attendance in every semester and you may get failed if your attendance falls below 65%.

The students of this college and the seniors are quite helpful and friendly. You will not be getting any grooming sessions and personality development sessions in this college.

Overall the college is good and time will pass in this college very soon. You will have some beautiful memories of this college and you will enjoy it a lot along with your studies.
