Is a CSE degree from Thapar University worth spending 25 lakhs?
A CSE degree from Thapar University doesn’t cost 25 lakhs. I have a friend from the institute who will soon graduate from the institute. He paid approximately 12 lakhs for four years. Hostel fees are not included. Even with annual increases and hostel fees, it will never reach 25 lakhs.
- CSE from Thapar is worthwhile because they have excellent placements and a welcoming environment. According to the 2020 placement highlights, more than 264 companies visited the placement drive and the highest CTC offered was 43 LPA.
- Also, there are a number of societies in Thapar where you can learn a variety of non-technical skills such as dance, singing, economics (ECON Club), event management, marketing, and design and various events take place throughout the year. This contributes to an individual's overall development.
- Apart from what is included in the syllabus, there are societies that cater to technical learning such as CCS, Microsoft Student Chapter (for CS students, anyone with an interest is welcome to join), IEEE, IETE (for ECE students), and many more for all branches.
All these factors make Thapar a good option for pursuing a CSE degree.
What are the best branches at IIT Delhi?
Some aspects to determine the best branches for you at IIT Delhi are mentioned below:
- Area of interest: If you let your passion decide the branch for you, then it’s the best way.
- Placements: Undoubtedly, CS is the winner here with MnC and Electrical being the next.
- Research: The biotechnology branch provides the best research opportunities but to avail them you will probably have to move abroad
- A perfect blend of everything: The Engineering Physics branch with its perfect amalgamation of math, physics, and engineering is the right blend of everything one seeks in an engineering branch.
- MBA/ Civil Services: Textile Engineering and Chemical Engineering are good choices as you will have ample time to prepare for CAT or UPSC.

Does the University of Toronto require a GRE for a MS in computer science?
Short answer, yes. It won’t hurt your case unless the score is too bad but the Computer science department website of University of Toronto states that there is no requirement of GRE test score for the admission process. Submitting IELTS or TOEFL scores will suffice the process of admission for international students. The online application form does provide a field where you can submit your GRE scores, but it is made optional.
However it is recommended to upload a GRE score as it will create an edge over other applicants. Target for a safe score of 320+ in GRE so that you leave no stone unturned to create a good impression.

Which college is better IIM Sirmaur or IIM Bodhgaya?
Compare the summer and final placement reports of both batches for all the 3 years. Look up the student clubs and activities on both campuses. They are absolutely necessary for your 2 years there. Finally, look up the professors in both colleges, majorly for the subject, you will probably be specializing in. Good professors impart their experience along with education. Keep in mind that IIM Bodhgaya, however, lags behind in one vital factor i.e., the number of students. In all probability, the students in the upcoming batch (your would-be batch) in Sirmaur will be more than if you were in Bodhgaya. A healthy amount of interaction matters a lot, especially because it's a business school and you benefit from the range of ideas numbers can provide.

The placements for the QSCM course at NICMAR are quite less. As of 2019, a total of 24 companies visited and out of 225 students only 40 students were placed. There was a criterion that is set by nearly all the companies that the students need to have at least 60 percent marks in class 10th, 12th, and engineering.
Also, it has been seen that due to the high intake of students, the package is reduced too much lower than before. In the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered was 6.75 LPA.
Overall, the placements for QSCM at NICMAR are not so impressive.
How is the placement of an M.Tech in CSE at NIT Trichy?
One of my friends graduated from NIT Trichy and here is some information about the placement scenario that I gathered from him. You may find these useful also.
- M.Tech program in Computer Science is aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of the recent developments in the various frontier areas of Computer Science.
- These include Computer Architecture, Software Systems, Parallel and Distributed Computing, and Networking, and Web Technologies.
- A sufficient amount of theoretical input is also given to the students.

What is the minimum marks/percentile you need to score in the JEE Main to get admission in NIT Goa?
My brother goes to NIT Calicut so I can give you some insight into their M.Tech VLSI and EDT course. Here are the glimpses of the placement record for the year 2020.
- The placement percentage for the programs MTech Microelectronics and VLSI Design has been 100%. All the 12 registered students got placed.
- The placement percentage for the program MTech Electronics Design Technology has been 71.4%. 10 out of 14 registered candidates got placed.

What was your experience in placement season at IIT Ropar?
I am sharing the collective experiences of those who have witnessed IIT Ropar placements over the last few years. IIT Ropar, like any other institute, offers internship opportunities on the basis of your CGPA score but for placements, CGPA is just a cut-off criterion. Candidates are evaluated on a number of parameters by the companies that visit for placements. Some of them are

Interviews are generally very unpredictable. So if you fail to crack a particular company, let that take the better of you. Your talents and persistence matter more than anything. Don’t let interviews be the only determining criteria of your worth!
Is there any chance of getting a year back in MAKAUT?
MAKAUT recently removed the concept of year back so you can't get a year back in MAKAUT. Students are required to clear the backs in all the subjects which they were not able to pass to get their degree irrespective of the number of attempts it takes.
So, if you fail an exam in the last year, you'll have to wait 6 more months to take the exam in case you were not able to clear special exams for the 7th and 8th sem which are usually conducted to save time for students. Similarly, you will have to wait for a year if the same happens in the 8th sem re-exam.
However, you can rest your worries in place as the examiners check last year's papers very leniently and even give grace marks in the last 2-semester re-exams.
