What is the mess menu of SVNIT, Surat??
The food quality is better for girls as compared to boys. Overall, the mess food is decent. You’ll adapt to mess food after some time.
The menu keeps on changing after a month or two. It is finalized after a discussion between the students and the hostel authorities. The students are also given the freedom to change their mess. The breakfast menu comprises items like Poha, Puri Bhaji, Idli, Medu Vada, Aloo Tikki, etc. The menu also contains corn flakes, bread butter/jam, milk, tea and coffee.
Lunch consists of dal, vegetables, rice, roti and curd. Dinner consists of items like Khichdi, Methi Malai Matar, Chole Puri, Aloo-Onion Paratha, Pav Bhaji, Biryani, Vegetables, Dal, Rice, Roti, Salad, etc. Ice cream is served for dinner, but not on a daily basis.
The mess food tastes best during the initial days/weeks. As time passes by, it starts to feel boring and kind of repetitive. Non vegetarian food is not served in any mess, but eggs might be served if majority students require it. Ice creams, Nimbu Pani and Fruit Salads are included in the menu during summers.
During festivals, once or twice every semester, special meals are served in the messes. This meal contains some special items like Jalebi-Rabri. From second year onwards for boys, and from first year itself for girls, there is a mess off day for dinner every alternate week, with prior notice.
Enjoy your SVNIT journey to the fullest, and do not worry much about mess food as it is quite decent.
What is the mess menu of SVNIT, Surat?
My friend stayed at Mother Teresa Bhavna and here is her input regarding the mess menu.
Breakfast menu:
- In Breakfast, they serve Poha, Maggie, Pasta, Bhel, Idli sambhar, Bada sambhar, Dhokla, Sandwiches, Omelets, Paratha, Upma, Veg Frankie, Uttapam, Boiled eggs, Dosa.
- Apart from these, there are few other options for breakfast like Bread(brown and white), toasted and not toasted with jam, sauce, and butter. You can also have cereals, with milk. These options are available every day.
Lunch menu:
- In Lunch, you will have Rotis with gee and without ghee based on your preference along with dal, salad, curd, and vegetables based on your choice.
- They generally serve potato, cauliflower, chana, rajma, lady's finger, cabbage, carrots, beans, sprouts, and cottage cheese, etc.
- On alternate days, they also serve Dahi vadas, chili pakora, and Dahi chaat.
- The Saturday lunch is always special with paneer, sweets and ice cream.
Dinner menu:
In dinner, they serve parathas, pav bhaji, cottage cheese, Manchurian noodles, potato, along with jowar roti, dal dhokli, and egg curry.
These are the mess menu of SVNIT, Surat. Anyways it changes but I am mentioning the food items which are more constant in the menu.
Which is better: CSE at JSS Noida or CSE at KIET Ghaziabad?
I think CSE at KIET Ghaziabad will be a better option. The institute has earned an "A+" grade of accreditation from NAAC, and the NBA has accredited its CSE program.

Should I join IIT Kharagpur for B.arch?
There are two aspects to the question. You asked.
- Is the bachelor of architecture course at IIT Kharagpur good?
To answer this part, I will say with certainty that IIT Kharagpur is an excellent institute. However, as far as architecture is concerned, your first choice should always be the elite schools of architecture like SPA or CEPT. This is mainly because IITs are known for their technology and not architecture.
- Should a person who's only interested in physics and math, go for architecture or not?
If you are genuinely interested in physics and math, then this will be one of your strengths and will prove to be useful in the journey of architecture.
Architecture requires problem-solving skills apart from artistic skills. There are many students who are average in drawing but have excellent ideas and designs. To broaden your knowledge about art and architecture you can read books.
How much should I score on the CLAT to get into NLSIU?
To get admission into NLSIU, Bangalore, you need to have a rank under 60. So you will need to score around 140-160. The required score for a particular year also depends hugely on the competition that year. There are also other varying factors at play such as the category, number of applicants, etc.
Is an MBA from JBIMS better than SP Jain from a placement point of view?
From the point of view of batch strength, JBIMS has a smaller batch size of 120 students, while SP Jain has a larger batch size of 300 students. The list of companies visiting both campuses is similar, but due to the smaller batch size at JBIMS, the options available per student are higher, resulting in better placement opportunities.
In terms of cost, JBIMS has a lower fee structure of approximately 1 lakh per year, while the fees at SP Jain can reach 10 lakhs per year when including all expenses. This results in a higher return on investment for JBIMS.
In terms of the quality of education, both colleges are equally good, but it is important not to only consider the quality of education when making a decision. Networking opportunities should also be taken into consideration, and JBIMS offers strong networking opportunities due to its strong alumni base.
In conclusion, both colleges offer great placement opportunities and it is up to personal preference and individual circumstances to determine the best option.
JBIMS saw a significant increase in average salary in 2022, rising over 20% to INR 27.63 LPA. The median CTC was INR 26.48 LPA, and the highest salary offered was INR 42 LPA. Consulting firms were a major presence during the placement drive, with companies such as Deloitte, EY, PwC, Accenture, Infosys, and KPMG among the top recruiters.
During the SPJIMR Placements 2022 Report, 75 recruiters visited the campus, with top companies including Accenture, Aditya Birla Capital, Amazon, and American Express. PGDM students received 123 PPOs/PPIs, with the highest salary offered at INR 53.16 LPA and an average salary of INR 32.06 LPA.
How do people treat PECians (PEC Chandigarh)?
One of my friends is studying at Punjab Engineering College and people treat PEC students pretty decently.
Here is the list of positive experiences each student of PEC may experience.
- If you are interning in companies, then it is possible that company staff may praise and appreciate you for studying at Punjab Engineering College.
- If others come to know that you are studying at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, then they will become super happy.
- Even the cab driver asks my friend technical questions and tells him how hard it is to get PEC.
- Locals know the reputation of PEC that it held a year ago. However, the college is not as good as once it was. But still, the reputation of the college is still known by everyone in the region.
- Even Civil Servants praised PEC students for studying there.
- If you are taking admission into coaching institutions, then PEC students get a special discount.
- Students of other colleges are always curious about PEC fests.
But PECians also face negative experiences. Such as IIT students have never heard about PEC or its fests.
Therefore, if you are studying at Punjab Engineering College. Chandigarh, then you will encounter many such incidents. People will praise and treat you differently if you are from PEC.
Which one is better, Thapar University or Shiv Nadar University?
After IIT Hyderabad and BITS, Thapar University is the third-best private college, while the other two are unsuitable for engineering.
If you have the option, choose a branch in Thapar over SNU.
Thapar University is one of India's most prominent and best engineering institutes, ranked second only to Bits Pilani in terms of private institutes. In the NIRF rankings, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is holding 20th position.
Thapar is superior in every way, including crowds, brand, studies, research, placements, and campus environment, etc.
Which is better: IIITDM Jabalpur or IIITM Gwalior (in all aspects)?
Firstly, there is no doubt that IIITMG has a better reputation, placement record, and facilities as it is nearly 8 years older than IIITDMJ. But this is only one side of the coin and most people don't see the other side of the coin. Let me show you these in broader aspects
Talking about placements, IIITM G may have a better placement record but we also must not forget that we are comparing graduates with undergraduates. We are comparing a student with a dual degree to a student with a single degree and hence this comparison is not fair.

Coming to the dual degree, you must think twice before enrolling in a dual degree course. 2 cases may are:
- First case: If you want to earn as soon as you are graduated, but a dual degree doesn't give you this freedom and you are forced to study for an extra 1 year before you start with a job. If you get a whooping package then it's fine otherwise it is just a waste of time.
- Second Case: You want to go for further studies. In this case, it may seem that a dual degree is a blessing but if you think about it, then you may think that you are limiting your chance of doing a master's from any other and better college. For example, if someone graduated from a 4-year program and did his master's from IIT-B then it's a win-win situation for him.
- Third Case: If you want to go for an MBA, then you are saving yourself from appearing in CAT and GMAT, but this is the same as above. You are losing your chance to get an MBA degree from IIMs.
I will advise you to have a deep discussion with your parents, go through some articles and then decide which one is good for you.
CUSAT or VIT, which is better?
Both of these colleges are good. VIT is the best private engineering college in India. Whereas CUSAT is also a reputed institute. CUSAT is a government college, and VIT is a private college. Thereby, you will get a better facility in VIT rather than in CUSAT.
Hostel Facilities: (Winning Institution - VIT)
However, the hostel facilities are also not up to the mark in CUSAT. But VIT offers good hostel accommodation. But VIT charges a lot for hostels.
Course Fee & Infrastructure: (Winning Institution - VIT)
- The education fees for entire engineering courses in VIT are around 16-18 lakhs, including food, lodging, and education fees. In comparison CUSAT charges around 8 lakhs for the same. Thus, VIT is quite costly.
- But it can be mentioned that VIT is far better than CUSAT. The better infrastructural facilities in VIT assist the student in their entire courses. Whereas in CUSAT, college infrastructure is not like VIT.
Placement: (VIT ~ CUSAT)
You will get good exposure in both of these institutes. Placement records of both of these colleges are also outstanding. If you work hard, you can bad a decent salary package from the campus placement from any of these colleges.

If you want to get better infrastructural facilities and good food and lodging, then you should go for VIT. But CUSAT is more affordable and it is also a good choice with excellent placement statistics.
