How are the ECE department teachers in NIT Warangal? Is there anything positive about this department in NITW?
As a B.Tech ECE student at NIT Warangal, here is my review of this department-
- Some of the ECE professors at NIT Warangal aren’t helpful or supportive.
- There are plenty of assignments, around 8 per week. Some students are somehow able to submit all these assignments on time, always.
- There is no time for extracurriculars because it is already too difficult to score good grades while managing such a heavy workload.
- Some teachers are not flexible and expect a lot from the students.
- Teachers expect us to show up formally. Each teacher follows certain rules which are enforced upon the students very strictly.
One positive aspect that I can tell you about the ECE department is that some ECE professors are helpful and supportive. However, some fall under the above category.
Thus, I would say that the NIT Warangal ECE department gets quite overwhelming at times. But this is a subjective opinion and you should also talk to a few other students from this branch.
Do IIM calls at 90 percentile?
Yes, most IIMs have a minimum CAT cutoff around 90 percentile so you can expect a call from IIMs if you touch the 90 percentile mark. The institute-wise overall CAT cutoff is as follows

The new IIMs usually have their cut-off requirement at 85 with IIM Shillong having a cut-off of 70 in CAT. However, it’s the sectional cutoff that is more important. One needs to fulfill the minimum cut-off requirement for each section, which varies from IIM to IIM. The lowest sectional cutoff is that if IIM Ahmedabad one can get a call with just 70 percentile.
The actual CAT cut-off is higher than that released by institutes before shortlisting for the further process of the institutes. For most of the IIMs, this cutoff falls in the range of 96 to 100 percentile while the released cutoff is just in the range of 80 to 90 percentile.
How is the operation research MSc and PhD dual degree in IIT Bombay?
The course Operations Research offered at IIT Bombay is an integrated Ph.D. course.
Duration: The course duration is 6 years, while the minimum is 5 years. It depends on how much time you take to complete your PhD. You can even extend it more than 6 years but won’t be receiving any stipend for the same. Another option is to opt out of an MSc degree after 3 years.
Compensation: Students are paid around INR 6000/- month for 2 years and then INR 25000 from third year.
Department: This course is offered by the IEOR( Industrial Engineering and Operations Research) department of IIT Bombay which is considered the best in India.
Courses: The courses offered are Industrial Engineering related and some pure operations research related. There are a large number of project courses since this is a research-oriented course. After successfully completing the first 3 years you get admission to a Ph.D. program provided that you qualify certain prerequisites.
Purpose of the course: The course targets students who are interested in research and stimulate them to pursue a career in Operations Research. Some students, however, instead sit for placements after the third year with an MSc degree and don’t go for Ph.D.
Placements: There is no use to mention placement as most of the small batch size opts out of placements to pursue PhD.
Suitability: The course is most suitable for those who are sure of kick-starting a career in research. You get to work on various projects under the guidance of great professors.
Selecting the best PhD advisor is very necessary to ensure a good career. The same professor then gives you a PhD in very less duration or even drags the time unnecessarily. The best part is that you don't need to clear any PhD entrance like UGC CSIR and can easily get a PhD admit with few formalities and end up with a doctorate degree in less than 6 years.
What percentile is required for IIM Raipur?
The table below presents the minimum performance required for candidates to be considered for the PI & WAT selection process at IIM Raipur. However, it is important to note that meeting the cut-off percentile in CAT is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being shortlisted.

The table above presents the minimum percentile required for candidates to be considered for the selection process at IIM Raipur. However, it is important to note that in addition to the CAT score, other factors such as academic performance in 10th, and 12th and graduation, diversity, work experience, and achievements are also taken into consideration when determining final selection.
It is important to aim for a higher percentile than the minimum stated above, as scoring 90 percentile (in the general category) may not guarantee selection, depending on the candidate's profile. The selection process at IIM Raipur is a multi-faceted and holistic one, taking into account not only the CAT score but also the performance in WAT-PI, academic percentages, diversity, work experience, and achievements to determine the final selection.

Industrial quota or consortium quota as it is generally called is a medium through which a student can be admitted to any of the UG courses of the university.
Anyone who has an industry can apply through this quota which is its main qualification. The process is as follows:

What are the negatives of NIT Patna?
My brother has spent quite a few days in NIT Patna and shared a few cons of the institute
- The size of the campus is very small, around 50–60 acres. But the bright side to this is that students can commute to and fro their classes quickly
- First-year students are taught in very small classrooms and they might feel congested.
- The hostel facility was average but some new hostels are on the way.
- The administrative tasks can take a toll on you as the paperwork is very slow.
- There is a lot of construction work in and around the campus so this might be a major source of distraction.
- Core branches offer very limited job opportunities but this situation is similar in almost all engineering colleges.
However, these small flaws of the institute don’t affect the academics very much and can be easily overlooked. The friendly seniors and cooperative faculty make your life here smooth and fun.
Is MDU Rohtak a state university or central?
MDU Rohtak is an excellent state university in Rohtak, Haryana, India. It is recognized as an ‘A’ grade university by NAAC.
- Earlier IIM Rohtak was within the campus of MDU but has been shifted to another place quite recently.
- The university offers tremendous courses in various fields of study at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels.
- Apart from offering such advanced courses in the collegiate university it also provides programs through colleges, centers and institutes throughout the region.
The infrastructure of this institute is considered as one of the best in India. The library is enormous with new and updated books and 24x7 reading facilities. The faculty is decent but has the scope of improving.

Do the classrooms at IIT Bombay have ACs?
IIT Bombay has top-notch facilities including Air Conditioned classrooms decked with necessary amenities.
There is a classroom in the Lecture Hall Complex that is huge enough to accommodate 300 students. The complex has 3 such classrooms and 4 others that have a capacity of 200. In addition to this, there are tutorial rooms that can accommodate 40 students. All these rooms are air-conditioned.
The lecture halls of freshers are also huge since the number of students is more than usual. These rooms also have a centralized AC system.
However, right after the first year, students are divided into various departments and the total strength decreases. The lectures are then held above complexes or the department building.
- Electrical Department: The lectures in this department are held in classrooms of the GG (Girish Gaitonde) building which lacks Air Conditioned classrooms except for two.
- Computer Science: The lectures of this department are mostly held in classrooms of the KRESIT building which has Air Conditioned classrooms.
Leaving some, most classrooms at IIT Bombay have ACs.
