Remarks

Overall, I think our college is quite good. It works hard to make strong industry collaborations to make students industry ready. I think the amount of importance college gives towards the betterment for the students by keeping the courses up to date, helping and crediting students in their co-curricular and extra curricular achievements, building good infrastructures and beautifying campus, will have a very positive effect on students lives.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is designed efficiently to make the students industry ready. The exam structure consists of two minor exams and one end semester exam. Some courses have projects in them which are usually from current ongoing competitions. The projects are reviewed thoroughly by the review committee. The course curriculum is revised every year and changes are made to follow the current industry trend.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement opportunities are at par tier 3 engineering Colleges. Most of the companies come here to recruit students for tech support jobs. Very few companies come here with software developer jobs. There are 2-3 mass recruiters like Accenture, Infosys, Robert Bosch who recruits 70 percent of the students. Few companies like samsung, Microsoft, Informatica, Inszoom provide internships to students.

College Events

4.5

The major events are the national techfest pleiades, where students from all around Karnataka take part in various technical events. Other than this, we have cultural events like Sapphire. Every year we have freshers during department entry, convocation for seniors etc. The department organises various technical and non-technical event throughout the year and have a vibrant college life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is really expensive for the students admitted through COMEDK, they need to give about 1,90,000 excluding hostel. For students who are karnataka domicile have the opportunity to give KCET exam, the fee structure for the is quite feasible as they have to pay only 30,000 per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

As much as I have heard is, scholarships are offered to poor students whose family income is below a threshold. They need to pay a very less amount of money. Apart from it, loan facility is only available through special requests.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a lot of options for extracurricular activities. There is a gym khana which has gym, indoor badminton ground and a lot of options for indoor games. Apart from it we have a football field and a cricket field with 4 nets for net practice. There are often inter department sports competition and college sports team often wins prizes in other colleges. Apart from it there is an literature club, singing and instruments club etc. Extracurricular activities are given a lot of importance.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a strong alumni network and each year we have alumni meets for different batches. Sudha murthi is an alumni of our college so Infosys hires a lot of students from our college. Several establishedalumni contribute to the college for the betterment of students education. The seniors are very helpful, their experience helps the students a lot to deal with college life. Seniors often help in courses and a lot in the juniors projects.

Admission

I got admission through COMEDK exam in 2017. I had a rank of 8407 in COMEDK. The in the second round of counselling, I was alloted KLE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY. I came to the college, there was a brief admission process, where they verified my documents like 10th marks sheet, 12th mark sheet, identity proof, college allotment confirmation etc. Then they took a passport size picture. I filled up the fees and selected hostel. And I was admitted to the college.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the faculties have MTech qualifications and few professor have PHD. Most of them are good and help students in their proects. However, there are few faculties who are ignorant of the course and doesn't care much about student activities. Overall faculties are at par top institutes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
