Remarks

i will say positive side. Cotton University is the best university because there you can go for a great future. if you want good marks, good study, good education,good knowledge you can try for cotton university.

Course Curriculum Overview

You can find so many courses in our college but I choose to study about our Bengali history. Because in Bengali literature we can get to know about some great poets, writers, historian. I love the great Rabindranath Tagore.

College Events

there are so many events happen in college but i know less of it such as, college election,freshers, farewell, any poets born day they celebrate nicely. but there are others event also happen which i told you i did not about that because i never participated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. They do not charge more. You can also apply for free education if your family earn is low. I personally think they are doing a great job because most of the people cant study for a higher fee but they can also provide free education.

Fees and Financial Aid

i do not know about scholarship because did not get any. But yeah if you are a post graduation student than you can do mini research for that they will give you a short of amount this not at all bad actually.

Campus Life

There are so many sports which are played by many students. there are labs also where you will every needy things. extracurricular activities if you never done it before do not worry they will teach you.

Hostel Facilities

I never stayed at hostel but I think the hostel is not so good. Because it is not a private hostel. If you asked me about than I will say no to Hostel I heard that the hostel vibe is also not good. i will say do not stay at that hostel.

External Expense: Rs.10000 - Rs.15000

Admission

I scored good in entrance exam because in cotton university low scored people cant get chance and it is very big thing in our city to get chance in cotton university. It is very good and famous college in North east.

Faculty

The college faculty is good. because if you are in any trouble related to study they will help you out. sometime I also faced many problems because of their carelessness but they solved that problem very quickly.

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

The size of the college is quite small and needed more seats

I was interested in political and it influenced me set my decision to choose this course. The curriculum was good enough to prepare me for further academics. The frequency and timings of exams are regular. The difficulty of the exams depends on the student's preparations

Likes

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

When I saw a professor doing the hypnotize process. The curriculum activities are much help to the future or the present generation. For the course curriculum, it is huge so deep explanation is required. No problem in this aspect.

I like the way the teachers of our department interact with us. They are very friendly. The campus is very good. We had sitting place for students to sit and relax when they don't have classes. We had a good playground.
The students of silapathar college are quite wonderful, friendly, helpfull.

Dislikes

Things I don't like about my college is , the principal of our college is quite rude, doesn't interact with the students. He don't even allow to enter to his office.

I choose English literature because I want to study literature, wants to study more about people. In our department there are very few students, 60% are girls and 40% are boys. We had four teachers in our department, namely, DR. PUBALI BORA KASHYAP (Qualification: M.A, Ph.D., UGC- NET), PREM PRASAD SHARMA (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL), Gitima Deka (Qualification: M.A., M.PHIL), Raju Pegu (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL). The teachers take tests continuously.

For admission, anyone who has passed his/her 10+2 in any stream can apply by going to the online admission portal(website) but at the time of mine, there was no such facility so We use to go college and apply directly by filling the form(paper-based).

Remarks:

Overall, I'd say college is very good. It is one of the finest colleges in the state. I came from elsewhere to study at this college and I don't regret my decision. I made many new friends and now I am used to the environment so it will be difficult for me to leave this place.

Admission for master's is done through an entrance exam. The form for it is available on the university website. Eligibility is decided through the entrance score. Of the total seats in each department, 50% are reserved for students from the Cotton University itself, and the rest 50% are for students from other universities. The 50% of seats reserved for university students are given based on merit (cgpa of bachelor's). And the seats for students from other universities are decided by the entrance score. Cotton university graduates get 50% of the seats. of which 2% is for OBC. 2% is for SC and another 1% is for ST.
