Remarks

If you get an opportunity to join PES University do it in your next breath. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You would be missing out on a lot of exciting stuff in life if you don't join this college. The Mechanical engineering department is a bit weak so I would recommend you to chose other department.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is well designed keeping in mind the ability of students. It is neither too difficult nor too easy. It's well balanced with theory and hands-on. This is based on my experience in Computer Science department. The Exam structure consists of sections which indicates the units from which the questions will be asked. The exams will be either pen and paper based or a computer-based exam. In computer based exams not many descriptive answers will be asked.

Placement Experience

5

The placements are extremely competitive and there a lot of placement opportunities. Big companies like Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, Amazon, Wipro, Cisco and startups like cure.fit, logmein , udaan and many more feature the placements fair. There are many companies which provide a 6 month internship with stipend to students from PES University. The stipend will in the range of 20K to 80K per month with an average of 40K. The college ensures that most of the students will be placed from the campus (about 90% based on previous year). So if want to pursue engineering with a aim to start earning quickly then Pes is the place.

College Events

5

There are many events which go on in the campus. Some of the major events being Atmatrisha - annual fest of PES , Samarpana, The amateur scientist, Sports events like inter-department competition, and general sports championship takes place. PES University might not be as good in organising cultural fest but it's not that bad as it looks like.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is bit expensive if you are taking admissions from other entrance exam. The fee is around 3Lpa and the hostel fee is around 1.25Lpa. The fees for KCET students I'd around 1Lpa. Based on the quality of education the fees is worth it. The hostel is also a pleasant place to live around.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship such as MHRD scholarship is provided by the central government to the students studying in first year. Please be attentive to the announcement. Apart from this Pes provides scholarship for being one among top 20% of your department with a scholarship of 25%of your college fee. This is a go getter kind of scholarship which everyone is capable of getting.

Campus Life

4

The are a lot of opportunities to participate in cultural activities and lead a team of people and gain the most important skill in life i.e people management. Labs are well furnished with sufficient equipment. I have personally been to a lot of colleges and one of the best lab facilities I have seen is at PES.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors here are pretty helpful in guiding. You can go up to any senior any ask them anything. They will be there to help you always. The alumni network is too good because of the regular alumni meets that happen. I personally have been in touch with employees from Amazon and Microsoft who had studied in PES.

Admission

I had taken up the Karnataka CET Exam in which I secured a rank of 1251. We had to give a list of colleges which we wanted to join based on priorities. PES University was my first priority. And the cutoff for joining PES was 1500 and I was lucky enough to get into this college. The admission process was simple which started with documents collection to fees payment in a systematic manner. At the end of the process we where given temporary ids which marked the end of the admission process.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is supportive and amiable. They are always ready to help in any aspect be it career or personal. There is also a career guidance centre and a consultant team which helps to solve any problem in the college (ex. raging). Raging is strictly banned on the campus. I personally have an experience of working under different professors for my projects and I had a lifetime experience of learning and fun. I would personally recommend to anyone who wants to join PES to get in touch with the faculty here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
