Remarks

Positive is the college is contact through bus and train and Tarakeswar Bus stand and Tarakeswar railway station have within 500 meters. From Howrah to Tarakeswar, Arambugh, Goghat train started every hours.

Course Curriculum Overview

Somehow, within B. A course has two options a) Honors b) Pass course. I choose B.A in History Honors. They said the course duration will be 3 years. The exam had made every year 1-time final. Now it is changed by the semester system.

Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Placement Experience

Yet, It is a General Degree college, there has a job placement opinion for the students through some traveling companies that offer job counseling. Many students have got their job by it. And computers are known students also got the job by counseling that works.

College Events

Event celebration is most of our part in social relation to college faculties, nonteaching, students, friends. Here every year have organized a cultural social by students and student council. And teacher's day etc also have celebrated at here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Most probably fees should less than rs. 5000 per year. And a tuition fees consideration would be allowed to make up poor students economic expenditure. Meritorious students have got scholarship by WB, National scholarship and NGO.

Fees and Financial Aid

Meritorious students have got a college grant by the principal and college secretaries of rs. 1 lakh for their further studies when they pass out from college. And MCM, Oasis, National scholarship, NGO of Belur moth available.

Campus Life

After study lab, library, playground, food house, common room game are also available for the students. A physical fitness courses NCC is organized by teacher though have want to training for Police, Army, Home guard etc.

Hostel Facilities

There has a hotel facility available for the economically weak and whose home to college distance matter about 8 km. Hostel fees should be less than rs. 2000. Hostel at nearby college and two-time meal available.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students have come to college at any time to contact their teachers. A anual fest got the chance to meet alumni and reunion. Every 10th. Year a reunion were planed to meet and social contacts and so on.

Admission

I was in 2013 when I just passed out of HS and decided to join college for B.A course. The college admission was started through online form fillup in www.buruniv.ac.in, home university website. There had a choice of any from12 colleges, I could choose this college for admission. And I chose Tarakeswar Degree College.

Faculty

The college faculty was enough for teaching. There are have professors, Assistant Professors, Guest Lecturers and Non teaching stuff also. Every professor and assistant professor are join through WBCSC and UGC support.

My Experience at Jaipuria to summed it up.

Likes

Quality education and an academically enriching environment. Most importantly, well- versed professors.
Extra- curriculum activities, along with an active sports cell and NCC, and usually various opportunities to participate in Inter-College Competitions.
Well maintained gym with separate timings for girls and boys. The canteen offers a wide variety of foods at an affordable price.

Dislikes

For my department, there was no educational excursion.
Negligence internship opportunities are available for my course.
Only some placement opportunities are available, and companies like TCS and Wipro came up for campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

A balanced view of campus life and learning

Likes

The English department has experienced and supportive teachers. Most professors explain concepts clearly and encourage discussions, close reading and critical thinking.
The course is very affordable, especially compared to private colleges. With scholarships, it becomes accessible for students from middle and lower income backgrounds.
The college has a friendly and diverse student crowd. The girls to boys ratio is balanced with slightly more female students, which creates a comfortable learning atmosphere.

Dislikes

The infrastructure needs improvement. Classrooms and common areas could be better maintained and modern facilities are limited.
There are very few placement opportunities for arts students.
Although some academic events take place, extracurricular activities and active student societies could be improved for better campus life.

Placement Experience:

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira: A Life Changing Experience

Likes

The college has an ideal atmosphere for studying and the hostel accommodation allowed for close bonding with seniors who helped us out in studies as well as personal matters. The teachers are extremely talented and treated us with care and respect.
It is an all boys college and it is without any doubt a ragging-free campus. There is anti-ragging cell as well as student councelling cell available on the campus to help out with these issues.
The experience of hostel life and the close sense of community that is formed during my stay has been instrumental in my growth and the strict implementation of discipline in our daily lives enriched me and changed my life for the better.

Dislikes

The administration is not always the best. Applications, forms, seminars and event permits all required a long time to get approved by the authorities as most of the time it meant compromising our strict schedule as it is a residential college.
The average food quality in the mess could be better. Again it is not always the best but for the most part it is decent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

Likes

I really like the environment of our college .
And the brilliant and talented professors with phed
And the friendly nature of the people in the college

Dislikes

The unavailability of the boys hostel in our college .
No bigger playground to play ...as there is only volleyball court to play .
The toilet facilities are not poorly managed .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked geography as a subject for learning and exploring as it includes fieldwork , surveys and excursion which enhances our mind and experience in our life and this way we have many opportunities to learn new things in our life which is helpful for our future purposes. The only improvements I would like to note that to improve the toilet facilities and placement opportunities.

Likes

Our college has one of the most beautiful infrastructure. I have never seen such infrastructure in any other colleges in our town. Our clg has the best infrastructure with all the facilities required for the students.
Second thing which I like the most about our college is the rules and regulations which helps each and everyone alot. Propers rules and regulations for everything academic co curricular activities
Third thing is the faculty our college got the best faculty ever each one of them are really very helpful and kind. If any problem face the faculty will obviously help you to get a prophet solution to your problem.

Dislikes

Just one thing which the the timing as many students faces problem regarding the timing as sometimes it's too early like 7 am in the morning

If I had to rate the course curriculum then it would be 9 as this course is really good one. The college provides proper teaching facilities with the best teachers and with the help of them it feels so easy and fun to learn. There are no improvement required for this field if they will keep on doing the same thing it will really be good

My overall experience is too good with good environment
I get proper theoretical knowledge from experienced faculties.
We get hands on experience from different star categories of hotels during the course in every weekend.

The Tarakeswar college is best in Hooghly

Basically I like English and I addmission in the college then I went to college for verification there was so charming and silent natural surroundings I love it very much .The seniors and teachers are helpful they verifying documents one by one .my application fees are 2000 i got scholarship from Swami Vivekananda and obc and minorities scholarship. The library system is so good and by Depertment there's are one library enough book store there .I immediately take my library card from library showing my addmission copy then I got my favorite book from there .In college a big sports field where we played and sanitary bathroom water for drink available everywhere. the class teachers are so good experienced they thought us carefully and important notes providing us .now days the addmission processing are so easy and teachers are new comming .exam center are responsible directed by the teachers .And students who have low marks can may be chance by there reservation certificate like St SC...Read More
