- Quality education and an academically enriching environment. Most importantly, well- versed professors.
- Extra- curriculum activities, along with an active sports cell and NCC, and usually various opportunities to participate in Inter-College Competitions.
- Well maintained gym with separate timings for girls and boys. The canteen offers a wide variety of foods at an affordable price.
Dislikes
- For my department, there was no educational excursion.
- Negligence internship opportunities are available for my course.
- Only some placement opportunities are available, and companies like TCS and Wipro came up for campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview
My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee structure has been reasonable, around 5,000. The total fee structure are around 15,000 for the entire course. The caution money, which is charged during admission, is refundable at the end of the course. Compared with batchmates from another department, his fee was bit more expensive than mine. Swami Vivekananda scholarship was provided on a merit basis to cover expenses, and a Student Credit Card facility is also available at a reasonable loan amount
Campus Life
As far as my college life is concerned, it pretty good and I have made some good friends.The annual fest is usually held before the New Year, and other social events are typically held. In the library, all the books are available for coursework, along with renowned journals. The sports cell and other extracurriculum activities usually participate in inter-college competitions in various sports such as cricket.
Admission
I applied to a total of five colleges out of which I selected four, except for Scottish Church College. I rejected Bijoy Krishna Girls' College because it is a girls' college, and Shree Agrasian College because I was getting History Honours there, and I wanted to pursue Political Science Honours. Lastly, I chose Seth Anandram Jaipuria College due to its good ranking. The admission process at first starts with applying and giving your list of preferred colleges on the website, and finally, Class-12 percentage acts as a catalyst in formulating the cutoff list.
Faculty
The faculty has been well-versed in the theoretical understanding of Political Science, Political Thought and other sub- disciplines of Political Science. The faculty has been good at explaning conceptual topics in detail and inculcating critical skills, and sensitising students with a theoretical understanding of the coursework.The HOD sir has been easily reachable to resolve any queries. The course structure, exam system, and marking schemesare based on Calcutta University.
Interview Experience
No, Group discussion, Interview and Written Test does not held for admission generally in general course.There is no other provision of admission and usually only decent percentage in Intermediate class matters.
Night Life
My college offers a day-scholar course. The gym and canteen timing is around 5 P.M. Kolkata is a vibrant city offering multilayered options to explore during the day and at night such as Park street areas which offers vibrant night life.
