- There are very few placement opportunities for arts students.
- Although some academic events take place, extracurricular activities and active student societies could be improved for better campus life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The BA Eng Hons curriculum at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College is relevant and well structured. It covers a wide range of literary periods, genres and critical approaches, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The syllabus helps build strong analytical, reading and writing skills and is useful for higher studies. However, the curriculum could include more skill based and contemporary topics to improve real world application.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities in the college are mostly shared through faculty guidance and online platforms. Students usually apply for roles like content writing, research assistance, digital marketing and academic support through platforms such as Internshala and others. Some offer stipends while others focus more on skill development. Projects and interships mainly help students gain practical exposure, improve communication skills and build a basic understanding of professional work environments.
Placement Experience
There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for my course, BA Eng Hons at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College is super affordable. I pay around 2000 to 4000 per year which includes tuition fee, admission and registration charges, library fees and other compulsu=ory charges. The total fees for the complete four year course are under 15000. Students from SC ST OBC and minority categories pay reduced fees. Government scholarships like Swami Vivekananda and SC/ST scholarships are available, which help a lot financially.
Campus Life
One of my favourite, the campus life is simple and academically focused. The college organises annual cultural programs and departmental events, which allows students to interact and showcase talents. The campus itself is beautiful and spacious.
Admission
I chose this college mainly because of its affordable fee structure, convenient location and the seat availability. The admission process was smooth and transparent, based on merit. The overall admission process was simple and less stressful compared to other colleges.
Faculty
The faculty of the Eng department at our college is supportive and approachable as well as friendly. Teachers explain text clearly and are helpful during doubt clearing. the faculty to student ratio is decent. The course follows the West Bengal State University syllabus. Exams include internal assessments and external exam, which are moderately difficult. If classes are attended regularly, exams are manageable and marking is fair.
Night Life
It is quite limited around nightime. Most of the students prefer to return home after classes and the college itself does not have any night activities. The library, cafeteria and the campus area is closed by evening.
