Remarks
Overall the Institute can be rated as good but not excellent as the exposure to great software companies are a bit lesser as compared to the IITs. But being an nit it fulfills all sorts of expectations but not extravagant or luxurious ones.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is good but not updated for the software branches but the basics would be covered in the Institute itself. To prepare for placements or any competition exam one must study by onself and not dependent on faculties. Online materials would be enough.
Placement Experience
This is the best part of being admitted to nit jsr, as the placement scenario is quite good. Being in the top branches like case, me, ece, eee, you can think of sure placement if you are decent at studies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Due to the revision in fee structure, now the fees for well to do families students is a bit on the expensive side. But for families having annual income less than 5 lac, the fees is quite affordable.
Fees and Financial Aid
College doesn't provide any loan facility as such, just the case is we have a sbi branch inside our campus, so the loan processing is quite simple. And for scholarships there are options for quota candidates.
Campus Life
Core branch labs aren't too great, but software labs are better. There are hell lot of activities scheduled throughout the year. And I had lead the sports fraternity of this Institute so can say that, sports exposure is way too good.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are way too good here, after placements this is the best thing about this Institute. It has a mega hostel of 1500 one seater capability and several 3 floored hostels. Only 1st year boys have double seaters.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are always helpful, may the seniors be at Institute or alumni. As an alumnus I can say that, we are always ready to help out any of the fellow member of nit jsr family. We feel good to do so.
Admission
I cleared JEE mains exams, with a decent all india rank. Kindly refer to josaa website for the actual opening and closing ranks. After clearing the exam, one should appear in the counselling process organised by JOSAA.
Faculty
Faculties are good here but can't say the best. Minimum qualification of any faculty is PhD so you can expect an indepth knowledge, but for that you must get in touch with them, class hours won't be sufficient. But again for placement preparation or competition do study by self.
