National Institute of Technology or NIT Patna is a Public Institute established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in 2004. The Institute is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Courses offered by the Institute are: B.Arch, B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Plan, Integrated M.Sc and M.Tech + Ph.D. Admission to certain courses will be done on the basis of Entrance Exams – JEE Main (for B.Tech), NATA (for B.Arch), GATE (for M.Tech and M.Plan).

B.Tech and B.Arch Course Eligibility
NIT Patna offers a four year full-time B.Tech program in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
NIT Patna offers a five year full-time B.Arch program to the candidates with 75% marks in 10+2 (Science Stream). Final selection to the course will be done on the basis NATA Entrance Exam Score.
Integrated M.Sc Course Eligibility
NIT Patna offers five year full-time M.Sc program in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The basic eligibility to apply for Integrated M.Sc course is having passed 10+2 (Science stream). Final selection will be done on the basis of Written Entrance Test conducted by the Institute.
M.Tech and M.Plan Course Eligibility
NIT Patna offers two year full-time M.Tech/ M.Plan program to candidates having passed Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture. Final Selection to the course will be done on the basis GATE Entrance Exam Score.

NIT Patna offers three year full-time Ph.D. research program to candidates having passed Master’s/ M/Phil Degree with atleast 55% marks in aggregare. Final Selection to the course will be done on the basis Entrance Exam conducted by the Institute.
