Remarks

All over if you see in the north it is one of the oldest institution and one of the most renowned and respected. It's fee structure is very nominal and reasonable. But in some perspective college can improve itself in terms of infrastructure and with some good and experienced faculty and staff. But at end if you leave the college becoming a gencoin, you will leave it with respect for everything.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

There are various courses offered by the college. There are almost 12 engineering courses in ug and pg , other courses like bca , mca , mba are also provided by the college alumni. Even the PHD is provided under QIP.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college do provide 6 month internship in the gndec - step block. The students from the campus can join for the internship after passing an interview taken by their respective head of department. I don't think any outsider can join in for the internship , it is only for campus students.

Placement Experience

4

Well there are very good opportunities for job and placements are also very good and organised. Almost every big MNC companies come in the campus for recruitment in every branch. Like for cse , IT there are infosys , tcs , accenture , cognizant , wipro coming almost every year. But the companies like amazon , microsoft , google have never come. But anyhow you can give off-campus interview for them , our college arranges for that too.

College Events

4.5

The college celebrates almost every festivals inside the campus. There is very good social interactions and events you will see inside the campus to entertain and have fun around. There are cultural fests named anand utsav and genesis where many events are organised by students and many competitions are held too which is literally more fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. It is not too expensive if you are a day scholar. But if you are a hosteler then it might feel expensive because you may not get that much facilities according to what you are spending. At the time of admission fee is 50 thousand and after that for every semester you will pay around 40 thousand.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have never availed any scholarship but i have heard that there is sikh quota under which you can seek fee waiver and get admission in it. Other than that ofcourse there will be reservation for backward classes. Moreover i have heard that there is another fee waiver for those whose families have less income and you have to submit income tax returns proof to get that. Other than that i don't know.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many sports events happened in sports complex block of the college. There are four societies in college to manage all the events and organize it. Labs are also quite good. There are technicians available everytime for any help if you need. In sports, there is ncc which you can be part of and if you have any sport talent you can reach to sports complex to know any inter-college or activity updates like this. Though website are always available to advertise and give news about everything happening in college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I was not a hosteler but still i really didn't like the hostel facilities at all. I happen to go there many times but it feels really uncomfortable being there even for some hours. The rooms are small and dirty. No cleaning facility you will get. There are beds which hardly you can say are beds completely discomforting. It is very hot there during summers. And also no laundry facility which it seems difficult for many students to manage. And one of the most important things is food i ate once and i didn't like it. So for all of these you pay a lot and that is not really fair to charge. I have always heard students nagging about their mess fees being very costly , though they hardly eat there. So i would say hostel infrastructure and facilities are not good at all.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very good and friendly. They give you a warm welcome at the freshers. Even at the first day i remember in every lecture seniors coming and giving announcements for fresher's party. They were really kind and thoroughly guide you for everything in studies and other things too. I must say very good social life in college

Exam Structure

For theoretical exams , there are monthly test called MST 2 times during a semester and then final exams after every 6 months completing one semester. For practical exams , there are internal practical taken by college alumni happens just before the final exams and external practical taken by an outsider happens just after the final exams.

Admission

In gndec, there is a procedure like any other engg. college by JEE mains exam. A student who seeks to get admission in any engineering college has to give jee mains right after 12th exams and based on the rank you will get admission. There are two ways further one is PTU online counselling and the other is direct counselling which happens in college auditorium. Visit the college site www.gndec.ac.in regularly , fill the admission form and wait for the counselling date. On the date of counselling they would start announcing the names from top ranking order and if you are the lucky one you will get a seat in your desired branch. Keep all your documents and fees ready with you in counselling.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is highly experienced and qualified for their job. They are very friendly , enthusiastic and guide you properly. To be honest there are few experience teacher and that too been allotted to morning shift and i was an evening shift student. We always have been taught by the fresh and newly batch of teachers.

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
