Remarks

No negative comments as such about this college. A very well maintained college with great faculty and excellent job opportunities, running successfully. Ragging free environment which provides its students a sense of security.

Course Curriculum Overview

No exams as such, are held. Course is very interesting. The course is very beautifully divided into three parts for 3 years, starting with the basics for everyone to understand. And also with that, the access to computers help to a great extent.

Computer Applications is a course whose boundaries is limitless. It is not limited to India only. GEMS offers the best working environment to it fellow students. College Events

Gems provides innovative programmes for the students to enrich their social commitment as well as their quality of professionalism. Holidays are given that are of national importance. Other than that, most of the concentration is on education. It has active clubs like NSS, ThanAl koottu, nature clum, film club etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for 3years is Rs.67,500/- , which is 22,500 per year. I wouldn't say that the fees is very expensive or it is feasible. The fees is moderate. Keeping in mind all the good facilities provided by the college, the fees structure is okay.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any loan. But one can take a loan from their own respective banks on the basis of education purpose. A signature of the Principal of the college is needed to ensure the loan. And there is no scholarship as such.

Campus Life

NSS,Thanal Koottu,Nature Club,Film Club,Alumni,INNPASCO-The Computer Club,CCE,CCC,Literary Club,Music Club,Women's Cell Arang activities take place. Gems maintain well equipped and modern labs with latest technologies for departments separately.

Hostel Facilities

I haven't applied for Hostel as my house is near. But as per my information, hostel facilities are pretty good. Accommodation and food is relatively nice. There are hostels for boys and girls separately.

Alumni/Alumna

Membership with smart alumni association allows students to stay better connected and makes a institution stronger - which this college definitely possess. Ragging free environment makes it possible for the seniors to cooperate with their juniors.

Admission

Candidates who passed higher secondary examinations with first group or an equivalent examination. Candidates should have Mathematics or Computer applications or statistics as one of their subjects in higher secondary. Only then, one can opt for this course.

Faculty

The scope of Computer Applications has no geographical boundary. Technologies are developing rapidly and Computer Science is the core of it which makes this course very demanding. Faculty members include Hari K who is the head of the department. Also other members are - Mohammed Asgar Ali and Mohammed Riyas. The three professors are very supportive and bring out the best in the student.

Likes

Loved the college campus and academic approach campus is very vast and diverse provide good classroom environment
Teachers are very supportive and friendly to every student there
Management of college doesn’t torture students like in the other colleges

I didnt like the place where college is located that much
I think strictness can be little less in academic
It need to improve in digital teaching methods

I chose bsc psychology because i just love to comfort others and tries to solve their problems our college curriculum makes us not only good in studies but also real life experiences in everyday psychological situations and how to overcome that kind of situation

Balanced campus life and quality of education

Likes

The teachers were suppourtive and explained the subject clearly
The college campus was clean ,peacful and had a good learning atmosphere
The library and other facilities were useful for students and exam preparation

Dislikes

No placement were there so students had to took jobs on their own
Some classrooms and laboratory facilities needed improvement
More extracurricular activities should be arranged

The course curriculum was well structured and covered the fundamental concepts in all details .It included both theoretical and practical learning ,which helped in understanding the subject better .Internal assessment, assignments and semester examinations were conducted regularly.The exams were of moderate difficulty and manageable with regular study.

Academic excellence in a beautiful campus

Likes

Academic excellence is there. 90 % of students are merit based admission, those who have achieved 90 and above percentage in 12 th grade. So there is high passing percentage.
Cultural programs are regularly conducted. Don't feel stressed out by studies

Dislikes

Sports activities are not regularly conducted or encouraged
Chemistry lab is not clean, chemicals are not kept correctly

Course Curriculum Overview:

My favourite subject is biology. I have applied for zoology course but unfortunately there is no seats available at that time, so I chose Botany which is also my favourite. The curriculum is perfect and prepares for real world. More practical sessions are needed. Every 6 months there will be semester exam. Which is not that much tough.

There is a thing that i don't like is that is the juniors can't participate in dance session for programs that occurring in our college. Only seniors are participating for it and also the dressing for some event are controlled by the Seniors. Buuutt
In college facilities there is not that much places for sitting during the intervals. That makes everyone bothered.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The course is available in private college therefore there must be fee. The admission fees for this course is 25000.and for those who take admission by management they want to give 50000.after that there is semester fees, which is 16000 for every semester.Our lab and tuition fees are including in this, exam fee we want to pay on the time of exam. In college competitive our course have a greater fee comparing to others. There is scholarship for the category's like SC, ST. Not know the exact amount of scholarship.

The college has a breathtaking historic beauty.
Many legendary persons, from writers to actors, were an alumni here.

Toilet facilities are very bad. Strict action is required

Campus has aesthetic beauty due to the fact that it was built during the British-era
