Remarks

Pros:The teachers very very helpful and friendly. Loans and scholarships available. Faculties are highly qualified. Infrastructure is awesome. Cons: no placement. No stipends There wasn’t any hostel facility. Canteen could be developed.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

During my session. The course was yearly course at that we used to study along the year. Now it has been changed to CBCS (Choice Based Credit System i.e Semester System) curriculum which is also pretty relevant. I hope our juniors are enjoying this curriculum

Placement Experience

1

As our College is a simple degree College, it used to arrange some job fair, seminars but placements are really rare for College honestly. As there was not any opportunity to go to any internship, there was no stipend

College Events

4

Teachers' Day. Annual Sports. Annual Award Giving Ceremon. Cultural events on Rabindra Jayanti i.e Tagore’s Birthday. Vasanta Utsav. Saraswati Puja. Independence Day. Inter College debate competition. Inter College cricket tournaments. Inter College football tournaments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As a semi government College, the fees structure was a little bit expensive. During admission. The admission fees was Rs. Five thousand and five hundred. And it used to take around ten thousand rupees every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was loan facility provided by Canara Bank which was attached with our College. There was many students from below poverty level families, they used to avail loans and many scholarships from College and government also.

Campus Life

3.5

During NAAC visit, the extracurricular activities get pumped up. The students of every Department used to decorate their Departments beautifully. In the Laboratorie. There was no deficiency of anything, the labs are basically the second home to every student.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are extremely helpful to the juniors, they used to help us during assignments and projects and also they helped us DURING practical classes. The Relationship between the Seniors and the Juniors was like siblings.

Admission

The College releases admission form after higher secondary result, every year and so i filled up the form after few days my name was published on the merit list of my College. Thus i got admission in vjrc

Faculty

4

They are extremely friendly and damn helpful and also during the classes, they kept their constant assistance intact, specifically during practical classes. They were also extremely qualified in their subject. Always cleared our confusion and doubt on subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of Calcutta University is aligned with other entrance examination (eg.IIT JAM, JEST, TIFR, GATE etc.) Specially for the Physics BSc course. And the syllabus is updated Artificial intelligence bacis, Python Advance level is in syllabus, it's completed in college. Point to be Noted - The time given to prepare for the exam is sometimes ample but sometimes it is very less. So we have to prepare syllabus in time which is little bit frustrating.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.
