A GREAT COLLEGE INDEED!

  • 7/10Ratings

    REMARKS

The college management is good and really teach you the value of time, though they still work offline and do a laborious job like in 90s.They support students at the time of crisis, but don't expect any help if its your fault.

  • ENTRANCE PREVIEW

MHT CET. It's an entrance test every student used to give before 2014 to get into engineering colleges in Maharashtra. I had interest in electronic circuits and physics. I got counseling at the time of admission where my scores from all subjects were compared and I was asked for my choice and interest and thus I chose electronics.

  • FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES

Expensive with respect to the services offered.Upto 100k per annum. The college had Nyss nagar yuvak shiksha samiti which looks after deciding curriculums and fees structure of the institute. The fees is too much compared to the other colleges, but the institute has been doing fine lately socits worth every money spent.College cannot ensure your satisfaction, you have to make it to yourself.

    PLACEMENT WING

Great, About 70% placement rate for electronics in 2014 with reputed companies like TCS, igate, Infosys and many more. Most having criteria of 6 to 7 cgpa recruited upto 30 percent of them, while there were many open criteria companies in the final semester of the engineering.

  • 5/10Ratings

    HOSTEL FACILITIES

Not applicable. The college does not have any hostel facilities, as most of the students are from local cities and prefer daily commute to college.Though there are many guest houses and pgs available for the students from other cities with average rental o

  • ALUMNI

The college has not taken any initiative to connect its alumni and it mostly focuses on academic success rather than overall development of an engineer.

  • 6 /10Ratings

    FACULTY

Good, The teachers are always there when you need!Even during weekends! Just have a good relationship with them, and everything will flow smoothly. The electronics department is said to be strict academic wise comapred to other departments, but it always r

    CAMPUS LIFE

Gender ratio is 60/40, every department has its own technical and cultural society. The college does not have any hostel facility and so seniors arrange an unofficial fresher's party each year which is good way to make new friends.

  • EXAM STRUCTURE

It's a chilled out scenario.Curriculum Timetable is very comfortable. The exam timetables are decided by the university itself and also has a gap of 5 days between each paper. But it does get hectic if you have any backlog.

  • 9 /10Ratings

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Good, Electives are available only from final year. The college does not have its own curriculum. It's affiliated to the Mumbai university. And so, All curriculum is followed according to the Mumbai university.

  • 7 /10Ratings

    INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES

None, The college does not have any internship programme.Find one for yourself online! The companies like Siemens have summer internship programme which you should apply to if interested. The college will do all the required documentation for you.Visit the TPO and you'll find some more internship opportunities.

    COLLEGE EVENTS

Milestone- cultural fest of 1 week in the month of January followed by techfest in May is celebrated cheerfully at the college. The whole college sets into fun mode as both students and teachers take active part in the activities that go on each new day of the festival week.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

None, The college only avails scholarships provided by the state government. So its the government, not the college! You could watch out for any other scholarships online and can also ask the office management and they'll offer you assistance.

A Good Journey So far

Remarks -

Atharva college of engineering is one of the few engineering colleges in Mumbai which provide Electrical Engineering course for BE. The campus is small but spacious. The teaching staff is also good. Most importantly, the crowd is also good. The college campus has a swimming pool, along with a cafeteria in the canteen. Atharva college was included in the list of top 100 engineering colleges in India in 2016. This college is not yet renowned but given its high ambition it will surely become one of the top engineering colleges in Mumbai shortly. Atharva college also has the Hotel Management and Film Making institute in the same campus.

I took the JEE mains exam in 2015 to get into an engineering college. I scored 60 mark which was a subpar score. I had to pursue Electrical Engineering because I was interested in this course. There are a very few Engineering colleges in Mumbai which provided this course. Being in Open category and for my marks, Atharva college was my best option in Mumbai And hence I got into this College.

Life is here and now

Remarks -

Bad remark means they should complete there portion on time and whole faculty should be good not just 70 percent is good and remaining is bad. And good thing is about the social life in college . Teachers are free to talk and are much like friends except some senior faculty. U make best friends here and that's the best part of it . But I am still in 1st year so no much remarks.

I gane MT-CET exam to enter this college. MT-CET is a competitive exam held in Maharashtra for admission in engineering. I scored 116/200 in it. I choosed mechanical engineering due to my interest in that field of engineering. I never thought of any other field. There is no other process of admission in Maharashtra to take admission in engineering colleges except to pay a lot of donation (eg- 7lakh) and get a seat in a good college

I joined the college in 2002. At that time, admissions were based on PCM group i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Maths marks(merit list) and Aggregate Percentage received in 12th standard. I scored 271/300 in PCM group and 82% in 12th Class. This was the best college in my region. It gave us both Spiritual and Technical Education.
