FCRIT Admission Dates 2026

Admissions for the 2026-30 B.Tech batch were anchored by MHT-CET 2026, with seat allotment through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) managed by the Maharashtra State. The 2026 cycle has concluded across all CAP rounds.

The next admission cycle for the 2027-31 B.Tech batch will be based on MHT-CET 2027. The tentative schedule below reflects expected dates based on previous cycles.

The Course-Wise Exam Accepted table below covers the current active cycle. FCRIT accepts MHT-CET for 85 percent of seats and JEE Main for 15 percent of seats under the All India Quota for all B.Tech branches. M.Tech admission is via GATE score through the Maharashtra CAP process.

FCRIT Courses and Fees

FCRIT offers five B.Tech branches, two M.Tech specialisations, and doctoral programmes across three engineering disciplines. All B.Tech branches are governed by the autonomous curriculum of FCRIT under the University of Mumbai framework. Fees shown below are for General Category candidates for the 2026 academic year.

Computer Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering are the flagship branches at FCRIT, drawing the largest applicant pool. The annual fee of INR 1.95 Lakhs per year is uniform across all five B.Tech branches.

FCRIT Admission Process

All B.Tech admissions at FCRIT are conducted through the Maharashtra CAP process. MHT-CET accounts for 85 percent of seats and JEE Main for the remaining 15 percent across all branches. Admission is merit-based on the candidate rank in the respective entrance exam.

B.Tech Admission

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 45 percent (40 percent for reserved categories)
• A valid MHT-CET or JEE Main score is required
• Selection process: CAP registration, choice filling of preferred branches, seat allotment in Rounds 1 and 2, document verification at FCRIT, and fee payment to confirm admission
• Candidates not allotted a seat in the state CAP rounds may apply in FCRIT Institute Level Spot Round if seats remain vacant

The MHT-CET closing percentile for Computer Engineering at FCRIT for the General Category typically falls in the 95 to 98 percentile range. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering show MHT-CET closing ranks in the 11,000 to 20,000 range. Cutoffs shift each year based on applicant count and overall difficulty of the exam.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

• Eligibility: Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 45 percent marks from a recognised polytechnic or AICTE-approved institute
• Admission is through the MH-Lateral Diploma CAP process run by the Maharashtra State
• Lateral entry students join the second year of the B.Tech programme directly, bypassing the first year
• Total fees for the lateral entry route are INR 5.37 Lakhs for three years

M.Tech Admission

• Eligibility: B.E. or B.Tech in a relevant branch with at least 50 percent marks
• A valid GATE score in the relevant paper (Electrical or Mechanical) is mandatory
• Admission follows the MAH-M.Tech CAP process coordinated by the Maharashtra State

Ph.D. Admission

FCRIT offers research programmes in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Mechanical Engineering. Eligibility requires an M.Tech or M.E. degree with at least 55 percent marks. Admission involves an internal written test followed by an interview conducted at FCRIT. Candidates with a valid GATE score may be given preference at the shortlisting stage.

FCRIT Placements

FCRIT placements for the 2023-24 batch recorded 269 placement offers. The average package across all branches was INR 5.3 LPA and the highest package was INR 14.5 LPA, offered to a Computer Engineering student. Around 80 to 90 percent of eligible students participate in campus recruitment drives conducted by the FCRIT Placement Cell.

Confirmed recruiters at FCRIT include TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, HCL Technologies, LTIMindtree, L&T Infotech, Tata Power, Godrej and Boyce, CitiusTech, Reliance Jio, Shell Gas, and Xoriant. The Placement Cell conducts aptitude training, mock interviews, group discussion sessions, and technical workshops ahead of each placement season. IT and software companies dominate Computer and CSE placements, while core engineering firms recruit from Electrical and Mechanical branches.

FCRIT Rankings

FCRIT features in major engineering ranking surveys at the national level. The institute showed a significant jump in the Collegedunia engineering rankings, moving from #385 in 2025 to #195 in 2026. India Today ranked FCRIT at #124 out of 308 engineering colleges in 2026.

FCRIT Campus and Infrastructure

FCRIT is situated in Sector 9-A, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The location offers excellent connectivity via Vashi railway station on the Harbour Line, making it accessible from Central Mumbai, Thane, and Panvel. The institute provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, with annual hostel fees up to INR 90,000 per year.

The institute holds NBA accreditation for Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. NAAC accreditation is currently in progress. An Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is operational for academic monitoring and quality benchmarking. FCRIT has recorded over 1,141 research publications and participates in the Avishkar state-level research festival, winning national recognition at competitive hackathons including a third-place finish at Codebit 4.0.

Campus facilities include departmental laboratories for each branch, a central library with digital access, seminar halls, a sports ground, and student activity spaces. Technical clubs and cultural associations are active across all five branches, with annual events drawing industry participation.

FCRIT vs DJSCE vs SPIT

Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology (FCRIT), Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering (DJSCE), and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) are three well-regarded autonomous engineering colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai. All three serve the same MHT-CET and JEE Main applicant pool from Maharashtra and accept students through the Maharashtra CAP process.

FCRIT holds an advantage for outstation students due to on-campus hostel facilities, which DJSCE and SPIT do not offer owing to their dense urban locations. DJSCE and SPIT are in mainland Mumbai with easier access to the city job market and industry interactions. All three colleges are broadly comparable in Computer branch placement outcomes and MHT-CET cutoff competitiveness.
