If you want to keep a balance between your academic and extracurricular activities then this is one of the best college. Lab facilities are not too good as it should be in any national technical institute. Lastly, I would say that you will get a chance to learn and experience real life things.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is quite old as it has not been revised since years. But, according to recent updates batch starting from 2020 may be the first batch to study the revised Curriculum. Institute committee has almost finalised the revised curriculum. Exam Structure: There are 8 semesters in 4yrs and each semester will consist of two exams, Mid-Term and End-Term.
Placement Experience
Placement scenario of NIT Jamshedpur is comparatively good in terms of quantity as well as quality. The average package of this institution remains in between 5. 5-6. 5 lakhs per annum. Computer Science Stream grabs the highest average salary and that varies from 12-14 lakhs per annum. College doesn't provide internships but training and placement cell organizes company's visit into the campus for internships.
College Events
Ojass: Annual technical fest in which large number of students from different colleges participate in events like Robotics. Culfest: Annual cultural fest in which you will witness 3 days programme. Different cultural competitions are organized with a huge participation. Celebrities are being invited on this occasion. Technica: Branch fest organized by Metallurgical Department of NIT Jamshedpur.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's really high if you belongs to a family with an annual income of more than 5 lakhs. If you belongs to categories such as SC/ST/EWS then there will be concession in tution fees. Fee structure is according to the standard decided by central government.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is very similar to other colleges. You will be provided tution fee waive if you belongs to economic weaker section. You can apply for loan in SBI situated inside the campus. You can apply for scholarship on your own but no such scholarship is provided by the college.
Campus Life
You will get an extraordinary chance to participate in extracurricular activities as there are lot. You have to decide in which activity you are interested. Labs are good but can be improved as it lacks lab assistants and in some case equipments too.
Hostel Facilities
There is no choice other than opting for hostel as you have to pay the fees at any cost. Hostel Infrastructure is much better than most of the other government colleges. You will get single room. I will give 4 on the scale of 5.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. College has its own Industry and Alumni Relations team which is a student body recognized by college. Seniors are helpful and I&AR is rapidly bridging the gap between college and alumni. There is still a good scope for improvements in this field.
Admission
You need to qualify JEE Main. The cut-off marks are decided by JoSAA. These cut-offs are decided by many factor such as category, domicile state etc. Fill the college selection form through JoSAA and if your rank qualifies under the cut-off then you are in.
Faculty
Faculties of this college are quite good. Here you can get highly qualified faculties in every stream. They do have good teaching experience and most of them did doctorate from reputed institutions within India and some from abroad too.
