Calicut University campus remains one of the top institutions to study and engage in extracurricular activities. Since the campus is politically active, students can learn about things happening beyond academics.

The syllablus is light enough and allows students to have enough time to engage in leisure activities. While coming to research perspective, the curriculum is not that rich which cause the students struggle while attending research entrances.

Department collaborate with some media firms and coduct entrance examination in the department. The syllablus purposes a compulsory internship programme of 42 days which have to be done outside the campus. There's no stipend provided for the program.

The college celebrates university youth festivals, sports meets and other cultural events. Student participation in the events are comparatively high and the classes usually get suspended during the events.

Majority departments charge a nominal fee only. The hostel fee is about 40 a month. Food expense come around 40 a day. There is no major charges other than these. There is round 5000 rupees as admission fee.

There is many merit scholarships available in the university. CH muhammad koya scholarship is available for students coming from minority communities. There is no loan facilities available in the campus.

The campus offers a wide range of opportunities for extracurricular activities. Several sports and art fests occur at the campus. The student participation is high with good gender ratio. The campus is politically active and elections are conducted on a regular basis.

Most of the students opt for hostels and because of some delay with the passing out of final year students, there occurs problems with hostel availability. Most of the rooms are double sharing and the research students will get single rooms after the initial year.

The department and the university in general extenda a good relationship with the senior students. They often visit the campus and the overall atmosphere of the campus is welcoming. Elections and other events in the campuses are important occasions of reunion.

Calicut university campus is one of the most prestigious institutions in kerala and is a known for it's political and social involvements. I opted journalism to do my PG and the journalism department at the university campus is a liberal space which allows you to explore your potential beyond accademics. I got admission through an entrance examination.

The head of the department Dr. Muhammadali is one of the renowned teachers in the area of Communication. Most of the other faculties are guest lectures and department aluminus. They are young and dynamic professionals which sustains a friendly atmosphere in the department.
