Remarks

Positive is good security to student inside college and many opportunities will be provided to student for there bright future. Negative is biased teachers due to which some good students face difficulty in marks

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Good curriculum, exam structure is partially good, mid semester or regular practicals are counted as internal marks and final exams and final practicals are conducted by external teacher. Good thing is that exams are be designed by computers

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies visit to college and then they will select the students as per there processor like online test practicals exams and interview. Till I am not sit in any placement drive so I have no experience about it

College Events

3.5

So many events will be organized like sports events, curricular activities, model exhibition and for students entertainment some times singers and Bollywood actor and actress are invite so student can enjoy

Fee Structure And Facilities

Because it's a private college it is little bit expensive then some colleges evenly some good colleges are not much expensive but the college is also good, good security to students good facilities so it is little bit expensive

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know much about it but some scholarships will be provided like Merit based, jee rank based, military etc good scholarships for intelligent students college also provide scholarship to those student who perform good in sports for college

Campus Life

3.5

Good sports facilities coaches are present in college for most of the sports and nice grounds. For each lab there is lab instructor so student do not face any difficulty. I think this portion is good covered by college

Alumni/Alumna

Till now I don't know any alumini so don't know about them but some time recently placed student meets to student on request of teachers and they share there experiences how they build themselves and how they study

Admission

I visited to college and follow the process of documents verification ex. Marksheet of 10th and 12th, character certificate, migration certificate by faculties and then they processed my admission and then I submit my fee for semester it's to simple

Faculty

2

Some are good some partially good because some teachers are biased. When comes to marks teachers provide good marks to those student those are good in front of them it's not in only our college I am sure this problem is in every college as I listen to my other friends

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Landran, Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Nov 24, 2025(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
