I think infrastructure could be better, sports facilities also need improvement. but Students are competitive and hard working. placement is very good and improved in previous years. though placement was always good for hbti but in previous years placement was not good. but now it has improved by the efforts of students and teachers.

The course curriculum is good but not according to the industry, the course pattern is old. The mechanical department is best of the college. Classrooms are well-equipped with AC. in Computer science department labs are well-equipped with desktops.If I talk about civil or electrical branch the facilities are not quite good, Laboratories are extremely old with no renovation or reconstruction. Old equipments are there because our course is also of very old pattern. Hostel is somewhat spacious but lacks hygiene and infrastructure.

Placement opportunities provided in this college are the best, especially for the oil and paint technology branch(100% placement ). Job offers are more than the number of students. Companies like Hero, Nerolac and Asian Paints visited our campus for placements. The highest package offered was 16.5 LPA, the lowest package was 2 LPA, and the average package was 2.5 LPA. for Oil technology the highest salary package offered was 27 LPA and average 8LPA. CSE: The placement of CSE branch is excellent. The average package is 7-9 lacs while the highest depends upon the student. The highest was offered from Microsoft about 43.5 lacs(2020 batch) in 2019 highest package was 37LPA from uber. Top recruiting companies were Mediatek, Asian paints, Oyo rooms, Jubilant Food works, Samsung, United Breweries, Global logic. About 10% students only got internships in good companies such as Microsoft, Airtel, Vodafone etc. Others got internships by their own like from Internshala and others like that. More than 85% of the students of all the branches got placements.

there are different events in HBTU Kanpur, i.e. Annual fest, Technical fest, Sports fest and some other events organized by students. Events are quiet at university level. but not good as compared to private colleges ot iit's because the budget available is less then other private colleges. but students manage to organize good events in low budget.

But HBTI is an govt. university so, the fee seems to be too high for a government university. back in 2016 it was 53,000. after that it increased to 1Lac+.

college do not offer scholarship. you can opt for fee waiver seat, which is like 1-2 seats per branch for economically weak students. and are allocated on basis of merit during time of admission. you can opt for scholarship by UP government or central government. almost every eligible student get UP Post-metric scholarship because HBTI is top govt. institute so its students are given priority in UPpostmetric scholarship.

if you are active in sports, you can join sports clubs in university. for that you have to contact the students who play on regular basis. there is no official way to join sports club students play on their own interest. if you are good in sports, you can join university team for that particular sport. and you can also ask for sponsorship from university for taking part in competition outside college. like in iit or other colleges.

hostels are available inside university campus for 1st year boys and girls of all years. for boys from 2nd to final year hostel is situated west campus which is about 4Km from east campus. you can get room on rent or pg at 200 m form university campus(1 min walking distance). or you can take room at 5-15 min waking distance rent varying from 1500 to 5K based on location. if you have bike then you can choose other location like kakadeo(hub for coaching), swaroop nagar or any other nearby location according to your choice.

Alumni network of HBTU is very good, they always try for welfare of HBTU like providing guidance, help in getting jobs and internships. Alumni base is very strong of HBTI. But you have to take initiative to get in touch with alumni these are always ready to help. and they are doing great in their fields.

The teachers, this is the greatest problem of the college. Infact the CSE faculty are helpful while when we talk about department such as electrical, mechanical and civil, the faculty is quite not good.
