Remarks
Our college is quite small and the college authorities can install new and advance equipment too but they don't do so. Several equipment in the kitchens are quite old and should be replaced, but they aren't replaced yet.
Course Curriculum Overview
There is a mid semester exam and a semester exam. Each semester occurs after 4-5 months. There is always a revision for every subject before every semester. Practical exams are also conducted before the semester. Vivas are also conducted.
Placement Experience
Companies like ITC, Taj, Oberoi, Marriott, Lalit, Leela, Hyatt, The Park, etc take students from our college for internships of 6 months, for On Job Training and for placements as well. I was selected for my internship in Hyatt Hyderabad and was given a stipend of Rs. 1500 per month only. My friends who were selected in ITC hotels were given a stipend of Rs. 3000 per month only. In the internship we were made to work in the four core departments of the hotel i.e. Front office, Housekeeping, F&B service and Culinary department. In this training, not only we learned about the operation of the hotel but also we got the chance to interact and serve the guests as well. This was just the first step towards the hotel industry.
College Events
In our college we celebrate Pujas like Saraswati Puja and Ganesh Puja. For the new students our college organises Fresher's function. For all the students our college organises Annual function. Some competitions like Cake icing, Chef competition, cocktail making competition, quiz competition, etc are held and the winners are felicitated in the Annual function. Every year our college organises "Pakhala festival" which means it opens it's restaurant for the common people to relish delicious Pakhala (flavourful and spicy water rice) and it's accompaniments along with several a la carte dishes. We also take part in several University level competition like singing, dancing etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Rs. 47,500 for 1st semester for BHMCT Rs. 42,500 for rest of the semesters BHMCT The fees is quite affordable as compared to other hotel management colleges across the country. Our college has been award as one of the best hotel management colleges in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
One can take loan for this course in the Banks easily by submitting some of the documents like 10th certificate, 12th certificate, govt. ID proofs, etc. If the students have secured more than 75% in their 10th exams then they are awarded with Rs. 10000 only from the University.
Campus Life
Competitions like chef competition, quiz competition, cake icing competition, cocktail making competition, rangoli competition, painting competition, dancing and singing competition are held before the annual function. The winners in these competitions are felicitated in the Annual function by our respected Dean and the senior teachers and professors.
Hostel Facilities
No I have not opted for hostel as I am a localite and stay near the college with my family. Our University has its separate hostel facility for all the students studying in the University irrespective of their courses.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors those have been passed out since 5-6 years are placed in quite good posts in the countries like USA, Australia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, South Africa etc. Some of them come to our college at least once in every year to interact with us and share their opinions.
Admission
I had applied for the University entrance exam online and then I was sent an admit card on my mail ID. Then I had appeared the University entrance exam, then I got the rank card. I took that rank card to the college for admission. After that I did my admission by paying an advance for the 1st semester.
Faculty
Faculty of the college is quite experienced and well educated and almost each faculty has a Ph.D. in their respective subjects. Teachers are quite friendly and cooperative as they always advise the students regarding their careers.
