Remarks

The college is good, infrastructures are also quite good.not the best but good.it is certified as grade B+ by the NAAC. There is a big garden in the front of college. Teachers are also caring and good and good water facility.

College Events

3.5

There were a college fest and some local and national festival like independence day, republic day, gandhi jayanti, netaji's birthday and some relegios festival like swarasati puja. There happens some other festivals too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible fees are not so expensive for 3 year degree course with practical subjects you have to pay around 10000 INR and without practical for 3 years you have to pay around 7000. So it can be said that fees are easy.

There is no loan facility available as the fees are not so expensive but one can avail scholarship under burdwan university in each year. If he is eligible by his marks and if his father is not doing any govt. job.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors students are very good and helpful. They help juniors during different events like filling forms or arenging bus to go to exam center. There is a room naming students common room where u can discuss about your problems to seniors.

Admission

First there is a merit list based on my H.S exam number then students are called serially according to that list to choose their subject. If one subject is full then the student has to choose another subject which has available sit.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Reviewed on Dec 17, 2024(Enrolled 2020)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
