Entrance Preview
There are no entrance exam to colleges under anna university i got admission based on my +2 Cutoff mark which is 195.5 with a good cut-off one can easily get admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
Rajalakashmi engineering college was established in the year 1997. It is popularly known as REC. REC offers ten under graduate courses and eight post graduate courses. It is an ISO 9001 : 2000 certifide institution it is also approved by all India council for technical Education (AICTE). REC is one of the top engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. It has many university rank holders.
Internships Opportunities
Our college has ties with almost all industry leading companies in the respective fields. All students undergo internship for a min period of 1 month in these companies. Most companies don't offer stipends.
Placement Experience
More than 70 companies visited the campus and recruited around 550 people with offers ranging from 2.5 lakhs to 12 lakhs. REC's Placement and Training cell has moved from strength to strength and has emerged as a favored destination for many national and international organizations to recruit the fresh talent nurtured at our college. In the journey towards excellence, many milestones were also set by the Department of Placements in terms of ﾓQuality and Quantity".
College Events
Technical symposium is conducted by all the departments every year. Students are taken to industrial visits to keep them upto date with the industrial knowledge. NSS, sport camps are also conducted. Cultural events are conducted mostly on odd semesters.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available to eligible students as per Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges Rules. Also students who are first graduates in their family get a special scholarship and almost half of their fee is waived off.
Campus Life
It's a diverse community of students at REC, and the activities on offer are as diverse and varied too.From entertainment to extra-curricular there's never a dull moment on campus.All activity related to extracurricular programs, forums, clubs, community service, and entrepreneurship cell and students council are managed by the student affairs department. Counselors are available to guide students and share personal issues.
Hostel Facilities
We have separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostels can accommodate more than 600 boys and 200 girls. Single room accommodation is given to the final years and PG students. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Only veg food is provided. But considering the good food taste you can ignore that. The important feature is that there is separate hostel for first year students alone.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a alumni association to keep in touch with the alumni of our college. We have a very active alumni network and we have a separate website to facilitate this.
Faculty
Faculties here in this college are minimum three years experienced, and more recently this college have told lecturers/senior lecturers to complete their phd. and even all the lecturer should have written the GATE. Totally, the faculties here in this college are upto the expectations by any students.
