Remarks

The college is good cause we have high end labs but its a bit expensive.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is an university so they set their own papers. It is more research driver, everyone encourages us to make project. No industrial visit. Placements are 100% if you clear a cutoff of 6.75 which isn’t that hard. And goodbye companies prefer 7.75.

Placement Experience

All the major companies came to our college. Amazon, Lowes, Paytm etc. 100% placements if you clear the cutoff of 6.75. There were special classes before placement season.

College Events

There are no cultural events but we had technical feet and programs. We had courses on relevant field every alternative Saturdays. We had to go to main campus for the feat. Technical feat were really small which consisted of around 100 people in each.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Government fees is set by the government which Remain the same. But then management seat is 3 lakh. There is a transparency. But the management quota doesn’t include hostel. You have to pay a extra 1 lakh for it. Which includes transportation from hostel to college.

Fees and Financial Aid

College didn’t offer any scholarships. And I have applied for educational loan. I got a loan in my second year and it was very straight forward task.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is almost same. We didn’t have parties as such. It’s pretty diverse cause 40% of the students were from different states. No tagging and all kinds of religions were there. We also a student from a different country, it’s not usual in Bangalore.

Hostel Facilities

No I opted for a pg which was near the college. 4 sharing, with washing machine, wife, 3 times food and hot water. It costed me 6000 a month that’s around 72000 a year which is cheaper than the hostel.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

We only had one batch before us so no alumni interactions as such. But all my seniors got placed in a really good companies.

Admission

I got admission thourough cet in 2016 I passed out of 12th. I had a ranking of 18000 and I got into a the college in the 3rd round. I chose computer science, college was in my ranking range. You take all your documents and go for the admission once you get your admission ticket.

Faculty

Cs alone has 60 prof. Every one is a MTech holder and some of them are phd holder. Most of the prof are from iit and have their own research. Ml,cloud etc. no industry experience teaching cause everyone is intreated to teach what’s in the text book rather focus on industry level experience.

The faculty's are well qualified, and they have a good teaching methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been from diploma background, after diploma I joined this course as later entry (direct admission to 2nd year). In diploma also, I have studied the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course. As I know the basic concepts about this course, it is easy for me now to understand the concepts.

Likes

Faculties are highly experienced and ready to help all the time
Good infrastructure with well equipped labs, library, sports
Adds extra curricular activities like teaching AI and other trending topics in college

Dislikes

Washrooms need to be clean and good to use especially for girls hygiene it has to be good
Hostel food is not that great and needs improvement in the quality of food
Thought schedule everyday hard to cope up with everything

Good the teachers find the best ways to make the subject interesting and teach us in the most interesting way they will help the weak students to feel the subject as a cake walk and help all the students out in the same way

I great there is no ragging in our college
There is a discipline in our college and good atmosphere
there is good faculty in our college and nature is good

Dislikes

there is no specific sports for there course
vehicles parking is not good our the college

from 5 th semester there will be campus place ment is there There will many companies are visited , like Amazon, google, There is 60 lakh per annual but i didn't known which companies there will be 80 percent students are getting placement my plan is to make money and help the poor peoples There is beast placement in our college , there will be a internships and good here for Hailey package in this college

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

Best location of college in the silicon valley of India

Conditions of hostels and mess is not good
Teachers and professors are not good in explaining concepts to students

Placement Experience:

From the end of 6th semester students become eligible for campus placemets.Many companies visit the campus including Oracle, UI path, etc offering students interships and full time jobs.The highest package offered to the student is 50 lakh per annum from UI Path and the average package of CSE branch is around 10lakh. Nearly 93% of students are placed in various companies.My plans after graduation is to grab a good on campus placement and look forward to my other goals in my life.

An honest review

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
