Remarks

Sometimes the management was lazy enough to do something like cleaning the ground.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was of course very interesting and the faculties were so good and helpful. I got to learn a lot and I believe that's why I got opportunity in so many companies in spite of not having the final degree. I have no regrets for being a drop out because I know I will stand one day based on my skills. I am proud of my college.

Placement Experience

4

There was a proper placement corrigendum for BCA and Computer Science. I know better because most of our seniors were placed in TCS or local schools. They were close to me and I thank my college for this opportunity.

College Events

4.5

Fresher's welcome which was mainly for the Freshers, Annual Social Programme i.e. Surodhouruti. It's was such an event that we got to know about the hidden talents of our students and also guest performer like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa champions performed, Annual Sports'. It was my favourite, Magazine Publishing. Another event that hold a creative approach to all the students, teachers and staff, Rabindra Jayanti. The birthday of our Gurudev Tagore was celebrated, Vasant Utsav. A small programme filled with colours and songs, Saraswati Puja. It was a lot of fun for 2-3 days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. It was feasible as it is a government college and one of the oldest colleges in our city. The tuition fees was also lessened for the economically backwarded students. Sometimes, the Students' Union and teachers also helped those students with money to get admission or pay their fees in two halves.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I didn't opt for any. As I told before if I have to write 100 characters on this then I must tell you that the biggest petrol pump of Asia is in our city.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was extremely good and fun but one thing is boring that there was no boys in our College and that's why I also can't write on gender ratio. There was extracurricular activities like Sports', writing, inter college games, etc. The labs were so good. Debate competition was held occasionally.

Hostel Facilities

4

I didn't opt for hostel because this college is in my city. Now if I have to write at least 200 characters about this question then I should write whatever comes to my mind like my favourite actor is Shah Rukh Khan.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network was active but I had no idea why they did. They used to organise programmes occasionally and featured those in prospectus, magazines and website. But it'd be wrong if I don't mention one of the most important contributions by one of the alumni association i.e. making "Aheli", the big canteen in our college where almost each and every food was available.

Admission

I applied for Hons in Computer Science in two colleges. My first choice was always this college because of the good review of classes and faculties. Also, the communication was easy. This college is located at one of the most important places in our city. Merit list came out and I got an SMS regarding the admission. I was so happy and rushed to the college in the mentioned date for counseling.

Faculty

5

I got 40 hours of classes in a week. It was enough and also, the practical was so fun. We did have fun and also got to learn. All credit goes to the faculties. The most important thing I was amazed at was no one was partial to any particular student and we were treated equally. This is the scenario of my classroom and I am proud of it because to be frank, it's quite impossible in a "Girls'" college.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
