Course Curriculum Overview
The Department of Education is one of the oldest departments of the University. Various areas of research are System of Education in the North East, Educational Psychology, Test Construction, Mental Health, Teacher Education and, Higher Education.
Placement Experience
Being the Monitoring Institution for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) under MHRD for the whole State of Meghalaya, there is great opportunity to be involved in the process. Recruitment to the Indian Army is also one of other opportunities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is really affordable as it is INR 7380 per year only and this is a two-year course. It is one of the most affordable programs in the country. Although the fee structure is great for students from low-income backgrounds.
Campus Life
The department conducts National/International Seminars every year on some current themes of education. All the facilities and infrastructure is excellent and well maintained. There is plenty of opportunity for extracurricular activities.
Admission
Candidates can apply online/offline with the required information. Eligible candidates need to appear for (NEHU) Entrance Examination conducted by the University. The final selection is based on marks obtained in a bachelor's degree and performance in the entrance test.
Faculty
The faculty is excellent and supportive in every way with a lot of research as well as ground-level experience which changes your perspective and helps you get the full picture of the course and its enormous practical implication.
