Remarks

The college is well established and filled with a great crowd and great teachers. The management isn't very well run, it is slow and somewhat difficult to work with. However the pros definitely out way the cons. It's a great school.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam. Only 10th and 12th standard marks. Having a math background helped. I got a perfect 10 cgpa in cbse for 10th and 90.2% in hsc maharashtra for 12th. I studied in the same college for JC.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

BA has first year 3 subjects, second year 2 and third year 1. There are 3-4 subject options for each giving about 9-12 subject options. I personally went for eco stats psych.

Internships Opportunities

Haven't asked for internship yet however being in mumbai with a great reputation, xaviers has a number of great companies that works with it for placements and internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Economics had the best on campus placements that begin in the first sem if the third year. A no. Of great companies from all over india, mainly NCR and mumbai offer good placements with starting salaries of 12 lakh pa. Companies like Mckinley, Tatas etc.

College Events

4.5

Famous for malhar, the annual college fest, each dept has its own fest like ithaka for the literature dept, Zeitgeist for BMM etc. Paticipation is huge and the fests are the biggest and best known in mumbai. College fests and feasts are celebrated as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government backed college fees is very low. Around 6000 per subject is the fees resulting in it falling in the less than 1 lakh a year category easily.

Campus Life

3.5

With about a 65:35 female to male ratio, the atmosphere is calm and no worries of tolerance etc. There is a strict dress code of no bare should es or ankles and it is religiously followed. Even though it is a jesuit college, there is no problem with religion etc and it is a calm and introspective college. Everyone is in their own bubble, it's friendly and bullying on any grounds is rare.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel is an oly boys hostel with no mess. The canteen exists which is well stocked. Everything from pasta, pizza, Chinese, chaat, dosa etc exist and nothing costs more than Rs 90. It is cheap sanitary and good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is stromg. Being such a well established school the students stick together and there is no real bullying or ragging or anything of that sort.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very good. The psychology and economics departments are the best hands down. The principal is also an ex economics HOD which helps put eco in the forefront.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's good, it's fun and I enjoy it. It changes every sem and that's why we also get to explore more of the subjects. It also depends on the professor tho. First year is to chose 6 different subjects and explore. Then second year you get to choose one major and two minors. Major are then divided into 3 parts, the 2 minor subject are elaborated and one compulsory subject which is English, this continues for third year. There are 2-3 additional subjects that change every sem too like PE, EVS, etc.
