Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The institute follows the syllabus and curriculum which is very well defined and its act for a program specialised in domain of teaching methodology. The course balances the aspects of teaching pedagogy and theoretical subject in easy to go manner. System of examination that is adopted by this institute is the semester wise system of examination. Examinations are held every 6 month and in total there are 4 semester examination in the entire course duration.

Placement Experience

3

As far as the job opportunities and placements are concerned the institute conducts pool campus however most of the student prepare for government teacher eligibility exam to get into the government sector. One can explore good opportunities in private sector based on their own effort. Similar thing is true for the internship which you have to manage on your ownm I myself got an internship in for teaching experience in a coaching institute based on my own efforts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees of the institute is quite manageable and doesn't empties your pocket like other private institutes offering this course. The fee for the entire course duration is less than Rs 5,000. The fee is to be submitted at the start of each academic year and it is around Rs 2,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The institute offers scholarship to the students based on fulfillment of certain criteria. Also at present Tamilnadu State Government is running various scholarship programs for different categories of the student who are domicile of the state. In addition to that scholarshipportal provides the scholarship assistance to the student. For educational loan government run vidyalakshmi portal allows us to browse through different banks and make application for the education loan. The amount of fee is very less looking for educational loan will not be feasible.

Campus Life

4

Talking about the extra curricular activities I can say that the institute has a very good sporting culture. Internal sports meet, inter- College, and inter-University sports competitions are organised on a regular basis. Events like the foundation day, state day, Van mahotsav etc are some of the common celebrations. Annual Christmas fest is also organised in the institute. The institute has spacious classrooms, a big seminar hall, wide playground, and library stocked with good number of books. Overall in terms of infrastructure the institute is quite good.

Admission

I made an application for admission in the college through offline mode. I applied to the college based on my score in the state level entrance examination. For offline application I went to the college reception office from where I purchased the prospectus and application form which I filled and submitted along with the attested photocopies of graduation marksheet and other certificates. After verification of the documents and short listing of my name in the merit list I was granted the admission in the program. 50% of the seats are reserved for Christian students as it is a minority institution. I opted for this college because it is one of the oldest college in Chennai offering the course and it's quite popular.

Faculty

3.5

The professor in our Institute are quite good and have years of experience on their back. They help us to develop that attitude which will be helpful for us when we would go to teach the students as a part of our career. This approach is different from the theoretical based learning that most of the teachers focus on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to B.Ed because I have a major interest in teaching and I did it in Social Studies. The faculty in the college is amazing and supportive guiding students in every situation. Although I did distance learning I still managed to make bonds with my faculties and they helped me out whenever I needed them. There is a total of 45 students in one class. All of them are connected through WhatsApp groups mainly. Exams are held semester wise and each semester was for six months. Students were informed about the examinations through calls from the Professors. Exams were of moderate level and easier to gain good score.
