Remarks

Management is overall not that good and its almost dictatorship.

Course Curriculum Overview

Good curriculum. The placements are pretty good. Almost everyone got placed. We had placement training which was helpful and the Placement cell worked pretty hard to ensure everyone got placed, which was a commendable job. We also had good number of companies coming in.

Placement Experience

I did Google Summer of Code in 2015, this was mostly because of my college. We had placement training.

College Events

College fest, Onam and Tech fest Vidyut. It's all pretty big and loads of events are there as a part of it. Big bands come for Vidyut and the show is also pretty good. For events like Onam the whole college is in a festive mood, so it's a nice time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. There are almost no additional charges. They provide proper breakdown also. There are no additional amount to be paid to get the admission. The amount was paid in DD when I was there it might have changed now. The books are not included in the fees, so that has to be bought ourselves.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got Education loan. My mom works in SBI, so it was easy to get it. Depending on your entrance exam rank you'll get scholarship. You can get 2 lakhs.

Campus Life

In our department gender ratio was pretty good since it was Computer science. Overall its average. There's a pretty good gym in campus. There is NO politics or student representation in any form. I'm not sure how tolerant they would be to non straight sexual orientations.

Hostel Facilities

Yes. 4 of us shared a room. The cleanliness was above average. There wasn't much food option so that was terrible. The mess food wasn't that good so we mostly ate out. The WiFi wasn't all that good but wasn't terrible either.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

They're pretty helpful. An alumni I met told me about the opportunities I should look out for and it has helped me a lot.

Admission

I wrote the Amrita Entrance Exam. Got a rank within 8k and got the admission. I chose this because some of my seniors were there and they told me it was a decent option. The Computer Science department is pretty amazing right now with excellent opportunities.

Faculty

Overall average but some are above average. There are couple of teachers with PhD as well. Many of them had a decent number of years of experience and they had a pretty decent knowledge in their area. Not all of them had knowledge about the latest in technology though.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

Compared to other government colleges the value of the ceirtificate in Amrita is much better. Admission process in Amrita is done online but you need to provide physical copies of the ceirtificates to complete the admission procedures. Comprehensive review of amrita Vishwa vidyapeetam - amritapuri campus:A blend of academic Excellence and campus life

When choosing a college several factors played a role in my decision to select Amma the Vishwa vidyapeethum campus from my cyber security program over other institutions applied to. Compared with other colleges I applied to 1. VIT Vellore 2. BITS Pilani 3. SRM institute of science and technology Amrita has an excellent repetition for its faculty in cyber security. The professors are experienced and have a strong academic background along with industry exposure which was highly appealing to me. Including well accepted cyber security lapse. These lamps focus on practical penetration testing ,network security ,and ethical hacking. Amrita amrutapuri is situated in a peaceful coastal area offering a conductive environment for studies the campus life is lively with several extra curricular and co curricular activities that I found very attractive. I got seat in gitam , vit,srm I choose Amrita because of the excellent,on date circulum they provide, they have wonderful clubs with lots of funding ,and how can I forget abt vidyut , a multi national tech fest where PPL from different clgs attend and we spend 1 crore on that ,so just imagine how big and grand the fest cud be And in other colleges the students are so many ..like these thousands of students , here it is peaceful and full of greenary Aeee and jee are exams we can get through in ...
