Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum structure and syllabus of the course for the MBBS program that our college is following is provided by the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. This in turn is approved by the Medical Council of India. Annual examinations are conducted which are required to be passed in order to proceed to the next year of study. Apart from that assignments, tests and practical assessment are done on monthly basis.

Placement Experience

3

As we know that in medical domain there is not a guarantee of placement from the side of college irrespective of it being a private or government. However in case of our college since it is an ESI hospital for servicing employees across India one can look for placement in any of the hospital under the ESI network. The college though provides an internship with stipend to the students for a period of around one year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Though the fee might sound higher for a government college it is still less than most of the private colleges offering the course. The annual academy fee is Rs 1 Lakh. that is for the complete five year duration of the program one has to pay Rs 5 Lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are at offer from the side of the central government. I applied for the scholarship that is offered by the central government through the national scholarship portal in online mode and I got it sanctioned. Also one of my batchmate made an application for the scholarship offered by Haryana state government for economically weaker section of the students and he also got the scholarship. Apart from the scholarships there are educational loans to provide financial support from the side of private and public sector banks.

Campus Life

4

As I told you earlier that our college is more of hospital come college than a proper college does there are not much of an extra curricular activities or engagements like a normal college. However workshops and events are organised where we get to interact with the patients and learn the skills of medical practicing. Apart from that there are also some celebrations on the campus which include the national days like the Republic Day and Independence Day, Annual Day, Freshers party and New year's eve etc. On infrastructure front the college has all the dedicated and necessary facilities that you would look for in a medical college for pursuing education and also offering services to the patients.

Admission

The college takes admission strictly based on the score of the national level medical entrance exam that is NEET UG. In total there are hundred seats in the college for MBBS program and all are filled through counselling of NEET UG. I got a seat alloted in the second round of counselling in this college. Being a Government Medical College I didn't wait for too much for other rounds of counselling and took admission by completing the remaining formalities and payiny the fee.

Faculty

3.5

Since our college is more of hospital cum educational Institute most of the faculty are hands on practicing doctors. They manage both the duties that is of teaching and practicing and bring in the best of that in their teaching methodology. The connection with the real life examples that they make during teaching is what makes the lecture interactive and easily understandable.

MBBS is a professional course. Sometimes it feels like that it is more theoritical than practical. We are supposed to cram the things that have no future importance like name of scientist etc. Exams are usually in June and December

Becoming a doctor was my dream so I decided to go for MBBS. Although I am a first-year professional student and I haven't spent much time in college but still till now I have an amazing experience. It's quite an interesting course. The faculty members are quite hardworking and passionate. Internals are conducted from time to time to ensure our learning.

In terms of study, faculty, labs its awesome. but one drawback is its high academic fee. Campus life is very easy and beautiful each student enjoys college life nature and climate is also suitable for every student in college. There are about 55 % boys and 45 % girls in college. there are a lot of labs and extracurricular activities are organized which are very good.

Admission:

The admission is done purely on the basis of your NEET score. A cutoff is declared after the NEET results are out. A merit list is taken out. Upto 3 merit lists are taken out on regular intervals of 2-3 days during the admission and counseling process. I scored 474 in neet and got admitted to this college.

Our college is overall a nice college with decent education and so so extracurricular activities. However our college doesn't have a "Canteen" which is rather negative for all the students. The playground is also not very big but still it's a nice college.
