Course Curriculum Overview
Yes, everything is fair. There are many Ph.D holders in our institute. Many professors are helpful. It is a four year course and is divided into 8 semesters each of which is of six months. Every semester consists of 100 marks in each subject of which 30 marks are from Mid-Semester examination, 50 marks from the end-semester and 20 marks are for assignments, attendance, behavior etc.
Placement Experience
Our institute holds a good position in placements. The average package of our institute goes to 11 LPA and the highest was 43 LPA last year. Many big companies come to recruit from here such as LNT, Microsoft, Byjus etc.
College Events
There are mainly 3 college festival. i) CULFEST ( the cultural festival of NIT JSR) ii) OJASS (the techno-management festival of NIT-JSR) iii) URJA (the sport festival of NIT JSR) Besides, different branch organise their own fests such as VIDHAAN ( by Civil engg. department), TECHNICA etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For a general category student with parent's annual income more than 6 lakhs, the fees per semester is about 1.04 lakhs which includes everything from hostel fees to mess charge, tuition fees and internet charges. But the fees for economically weaker students is less.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, currently there is currently no scholarship from the institute. But there is education loan which can be availed directly through the NIT branch of SBI.
Campus Life
The campus of NIT Jamshedpur is very big. The gender ratio is also well approximately 2:1. Many workshops are held through the OJASS and CULFEST team. Many group discussions, guest lectures, college tour through different teams are also organised. There are robotics workshop, programming and coding workshops organised by the teams.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I have. Well, it is compulsory for students to opt for hostel. There are different hostels for every year and also separated for boys and girls. In our hostel, two students share a single room equipped with two single beds, two cupboards and one table and chair.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful here as ragging is totally omitted by our seniors. They guide us through the different challenges in the college life and care us as their younger brother.
Admission
The National Testing Agency conducts an examination or you can say JEE-Mains which was initially conducted by CBSE in offline mode. Anyone either appearing in 12th board examination or have passed out 12th before one or two years is eligible to appear in this examination. I appeared in this for the first and the last time in 2019 and cleared it with AIR 32515. Then followed by JoSAA counseling, I was selected to Civil Engineering in this instituition.
Faculty
Most of the lecturers are Ph.D. holders and are so fantastic. They deliver the lecture as per the scheduled set by the institute. The number of lecture are different for different to subjects but on an average it is 30 or more. There are perfectly equipped laboratories for different subjects.
