Entrance Preview

Back in 2005, we had to write Tamil Nadu Engg entrance exam. The aggregate was calculated based on your HSC Maths, Physics, Chemistry and entrance exam score.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It was the curriculum based on Anna University. Electives were students choice. We had opted for Artificial Intelligence, Theory of Computation as electives.

Internships Opportunities

We did not have the culture of internship. Yet, we had gone to in-plant training in various telecom organizations like Bharti's Touchtel, All India Radio etc on our personal interest.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement department tried a lot to bring companies like Ramco Systems. We had lot of off-campus interviews. Later, Anna university started organizing off-campuses in our college. Various MNCs like Accenture, IBM and other Indian companies like TCS, iGate, CTS started coming on-campus. Mostly campus depends on the present market situations.

College Events

1.5

Every year there use to be technical symposiums conducted in each department. Students from various colleges use to participate. Every year, there was Annual Day, Sports day conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure depends upon Anna University's structure. In 2001-2005, I had spent less than a Lakh for my entire course. Later they hiked the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship were provided to the needy from the college management. Esp for poor students. Some of my friends have utilized it. Various banks provide loans.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio was almost 2:3 - girls:boys. Not much fun activities inside as most of the students would be local & day scholars. There were events on debates and discussions.

Alumni/Alumna

Not much activity there. Friends from our batch are connected in fb/whatsapp etc. But otherwise, no alumni activities from college. But the management can focus on this as it will help the present students a lot.

Exam Structure

Internal exams were decided by the HOD. Labs were cool. They had latest (by then) technology in labs, internet was good. Lab assistants were friendly. It was nice attending lab hours.

Faculty

3

We did not have MTech or PhD grads as faculties. Most of them were fresh pass-outs of BE, many from the same college. The faculties were friendly, understanding and helpful.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
