The faculty of my major is really good. We have teachers who have graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU ), Cotton University and other such prestigious institutes. The overall environment is student-friendly.
The course syllabus was updated according to Gauhati University system. My college provided me with a platform to explore myself. The faculties are really good. The ones who have taught my honours and pass course we're indeed amazing.
We don't have placement opportunities but have a wider scope to explore our desired jobs. We have had politicians, singers, artists, actors, as the Alma mater of our college. Students from our college have gone for higher studies and achieved great heights in life.
The campus life was really good enough. B. Borooah has its own fest named Youth Conclave where we invite students across various institutions. We also have our own Annual Functions, College weeks, where judges from outside the college are also invited.
I Received the Ishaan Uday Scholarship facility provided to meritorious students by the government. It doesn't require any special quota and can be availed by general category students too, who secure beyond a certain percentage in their class 12th examination.
Being a government college, the infrastructure is quite good. The library system is up-to-date. It follows an online data entry system. We also have a field where various competitions occur. Even though I wasn't a science student, having friends from that background made me realize that we were indeed well equipped.
Since I'm a newcomer to this university I don't have much idea about placements but at the same time, the department organizes various opportunities for its students to meet reputed media houses which is great on its own.

I chose English Majors because I was always good in literature and books. I love reading. And I wanted to persue a career in the same. For me, the learning experience mattered and not some big-name college from Delhi University. So I chose this humble one. However, I was amazed by their teaching skills and others. The professors are the best. There were around 60 students per class. Only one section in the first semester and later it got increased. Exams were moderately tough and you could pass them but only if you studied. And you had to study believe me. The teaching method used by the professors was simple. Teaching from the books. Overall a very good faculty.
As a college, it is quite good for pursing every undergraduate course. Faculty members are cooperative, hostel stay is good in a very low budget. Apart from an undergraduate course, Arya Vidyapeeth College is one of the best colleges to study Post Graduate in Mathematics under Gauhati University.
This programme I am enrolled provides an wide array of subjects ranging from basic maths, statistics, hindi/Assamese (option is provided between the local language and hindi) and all disciplines that come under social science. Tata Institute of Social Science is one of the premiere social science institute in India with renowned faculty.
